Lifeline Bookfest Haul

June 10, 2013 by Jeann @ Happy Indulgence | Books, Gaming, Swag

If it wasn’t for Lifeline Bookfest, my book shelf wouldn’t be bursting at the seams.

Every year, it is one of my most anticipated events on the calendar. With aisles of books, dvds, board games and games, it’s like a book collector’s dream. And you’re also doing a good deed for the proceeds go to charity too.

This year, I went early on the first day it was opened and picked up a lot of bargain buys, especially in the games/dvds section for $2.50 each. Picked up a lot of adventure games that I already own in digital format in the CD to add to the gaming shelf. My favourite buy of the game is Modern Warfare 2 for $2.50!! Woot!

I  checked out the Children’s section too in the High Quality section (as I’m picky about the condition of the books) and picked up some awesome YA finds. Really chuffed about the Study trilogy by Maria V. Snyder. The High Quality section is awesome if you’re looking for newer releases and they’re priced around $4-6 each (the ones I looked at anyway) which is awesome.

I also picked up an unused Pictionary for $12 to add to the board games collection. I’ve been wanting that game for a while because it’s always full of laughs!

Overall, an awesome haul from a rainy weekend. I went back a few days after and didn’t find too much as the DVD and games section had been wiped clean by hoarders/resellers. I can’t wait until the next one, can’t believe these are on twice a year.

In other news, Happy Indulgence’s 1 year birthday is coming up next month on the 11th of July. I’ve got something planned up my sleeve which I’m really excited about. Stay tuned everyone!

  1. Wow this is an awesome haul! I want that Death Note boxset *grabby hands* lol. Bookfest sounds like an awesome event! I really wish we had something like this around my area…then again I'd probably run out of room on my shelves.

    • Lol I can't believe I found the Death Note! It's actually the live action movie, but I'm not complaining. I'm lucky to have bookfest here and twice a year as well! My bookshelf is definitely running out of room, time for another one XD
