Waiting on Wednesday #1: Allegiant by Veronica Roth

September 18, 2013 by Jeann @ Happy Indulgence | Books, Weekly Memes

This is my first Waiting on Wednesday for something different. This is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights the upcoming releases we are eagerly waiting for.

I don’t think I’m alone when I say the October release I’m most excited about is Allegiant! I can’t wait for more Four and to see where Tris ends up. And for the first time, for us to hear Four’s perspective!

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

Release Date: October 22, 2013

Book summary:

One choice will define you.

What if your whole world was a lie?
What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

Allegiant Quotes!

While we’re on topic, how awesome is the Divergent trailer?

It looks awesome and I’m already drooling over Four! I think the casting is spot on and Shailene Woodley seems like she’ll be an awesome Tris. I could watch it over and over again.

What are you waiting on this Wednesday?

  3. I think next to Hunger Games Trilogy this is definitely my favorite dystopian! Insurgent's ending was just evil! I need Allegiant pronto!

And yes, I'm also excited for the movie, I like Shailene ever sice I saw her on the The Descendants and I just learned that she'll also be in the movie version of The Fault in Our Stars (I haven't read this yet).

The trailer is awesome and yes, Four is HOT!

  6. You don't know how much I love this series. I'm definitely a huge fangirl for the Divergent series. When I saw the trailer, I immediately realised how spot on all the choices were! (I was actually a bit skeptic about Shailene, but not anymore). And I read Insurgent when it was just released! I finished it in 5 hours and then I was left with the biggest hangover ever! So I'm so desperately waiting for it! Great post!
