I missed StS last week so this one combines the last 2 weeks worth of books. Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, Stacking the Shelves is about sharing your book hauls for the week.

Bought

The Fault In Our Stars Hard back The Fault in Our Stars Hardback

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – I was stalking my local bookstore for the Australian version of this hardback. Isn’t it the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen? If you take off the jacket it looks really cool too with the turquoise cover. I recently read this and like everyone, was bawling at the ending. My review will be going live soon!

Review copies

Thank you to Random House Australia, Walker Books and Text Publishing for these review copies!

Teardrop by Lauren Kate – I just love the amazing cover for this one, what do you guys think? A really unique premise, hopefully it holds up.

Zac and Mia by A.J. Betts – These heart breaking YA contemporaries have been on my radar lately, and I’ve heard good things about this cancer read!

The Accident by Kate Hendrick – I’ve heard the writing for this is beautiful, and the pivotal moment changing your life appeals to me.

Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan – This will be my first GLBT read but I’ve heard this one is relevant, beautiful and packs a punch in its short length. Random comment, but I just realised its David Levithan, not David Leviathan. LOL too much Supernatural for me!

More Than This by Patrick Ness – This book caught my eye at the book store and I had to get my hands on it. The blurb sounds incredibly enticing and it will be an intense read that I can’t wait to pick up!

Review copies – eBooks

pawn

drownedforest  foreveronescrystal fire Waterfell

I received these ones from Netgalley. Trying to be good and only requesting the ones that really interest me. Thanks to Harlequin TEEN, Marjolie DeLuca and Flux for these e-ARCs!

Pawn by Aimee Carter – Looks like a next big dystopian and you know how much I love my dystopians.

Crystal Fire – Look at that amazing cover! This is about psychics and sounds awesome. I didn’t realise it was a 2nd in the series though, so will have to hunt down the 1st book!

The Forever Ones by Marjorie DeLuca – I spotted this one on a blog a while back and thought the premise was totally up my alley, and the cover is absolutely beautiful!

The Drowned Forest by Kristopher Reisz – This one looks like a creepy read. I actually requested this one months ago and this is the first time I’ve been accepted by Flux books but I’m excited!

Waterfell – I just love this cover as well, I’m totally attracted to cool covers lol. This sounds like a good teen romance, sort of like The Little Mermaid.

  1. Hahah I keep wanting to write Leviathan too. It gets me every time. Two Boys Kissing was my first GLBT too but I really liked it. And I'm definitely curious about Crystal Fire and Pawn to name a couple. Hope you love all of your books! 🙂

  2. Oh, I love that version of TFIOS! I thought the American was just fine, but now I see this, and I want it! 🙂 I read Two Boys Kissing, and I thought it was just OK. Since this is your first LGBT book, I hope you're not turned off to the genre, because I thought it was a bit preachy. I much preferred Levithan's earlier book, Every Day. I do hope you like this, though. Oh, and I also took a while to realize that's it's not Leviathan. 🙂

  3. I got Waterfell from Netgalley as well, and I'm really intrigued by it! I hope I'll enjoy it 🙂

I'm not a huge fan of LK, so I'm curious to see what you'll think of Teardrop. I have added Two Boys Kissing to my TBR as well, and look forward to it! Pawn has been on many lists for StS this week, I hope it's really good!

Great haul Jeann 🙂 Happy reading.

  4. Aha! I take my hats off your bravery for buying and eventually reading the "most" emotional book that walked this planet, Jeann. Hahaha. I am so tempted to buy it too but I am still mustering a lot of courage. I am a softie so I easily tear up at the slightest emotional provocations.

And you also got Pawn. I've been seeing it a lot lately. I hope it's as good as it sounds. And also, I can't help but feel a little envious upon seeing Waterfell. I requested the title from Netgalley a month ago (I think) but I got disapproved. *sighs*

Have fun reading all your lovelies, Jeann!

    • I know, I thought I wasn't going to cry but it broke me hahaha. Yeah, I think I got approved because maybe Waterfell was for Aussie bloggers only? Anyways, hope you get to read it soon!

  5. ooh, the Australian TFiOS is sooo pretty! I love it!

And OH MY YOU HAVE TWO BOYS KISSING. Cue freakout. I LOVED this so hard! Can't wait to see what you think of it!

And I'm definitely curious what you'll think of Pawn and Waterfell. I have an ARC of Waterfell myself, but I've yet to start it. Early reviews haven't been great, I'm afraid :/

  6. I recently read and reviewed Pawn; I really enjoyed it as I am also a huge fan of dystopian fiction! I've seen Waterfell a lot recently, have never read any mermaid books that I can think of. My experience with mermaids is really only The Little Mermaid, but what more do you need. Sounds interesting though so I am tempted. Enjoy them all! My STS

  7. OMG…what a awesome haul! I'm so jelly you got a copy of Teardrop! Maybe we could do a swap when you're finished reading it for another ARC or finished copy I have? 😉

I was tempted to get Waterfell and Crystal Fire, can't wait to see what you think of those!

Thanks for stopping by me <3

PS: GR me or Tweet me if you're down to do a future swap! You're US, right?

  8. Great haul! I have heard so many great things about Two Boys Kissing, Pawn and Waterfell.

I am not too sure about Teardrop – but it does have a beautiful cover! Happy reading for all your books!

  9. The Australian version of TFIOS is so SHINY. I think I prefer the US cover, but it's tough to decide because that new copy looks so darn pretty.

Enjoy the new books! Thanks for stopping by my STS. 🙂

  10. Wow you got some great books! I actually just asked my local Dymocks if they could hold a copy of TFIOS for me to pick up tomorrow because they just got 32 SIGNED hardcovers in!! So first thing tomorrow morning I'm getting TFIOS!! 😀 😀 I'm very excited and had to share!

Happy reading, enjoy your pretty hardcover! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂

  11. Your edition of The Fault in Our Stars is beautiful! Man, my paperback feels really boring now. I'd be interested to see what you think of Two Boys Kissing, I really need some more LGBT books in my life, and it's really hard to find some reviews on some…

  12. That has to be the prettiest TFIOS cover I've ever seen. I'm feeling very jealous right now! Great haul though, I;m really looking forward to hearing your opinion on Two Boys Kissing and More Than This. I'm still debating whether to buy them or not. Amazing haul!

  13. Great haul Jeann! You recieved some really awesome books this week and I can't wait to hear what you think of them. The Fault In Our Stars is one of my favourite reads of all time and I was SO close to buying a copy of this edition today but didn't because I already had the normal one. Teardrop sounds fantastic and if you like it, I might request it. Can't wait to hear how More Than This goes as I got it myself. Happy Reading 🙂
