Remember that amazing TBD sale I was talking about a few weeks back? The books I got last week weren’t the only books I bought, the rest of my books came in this week. All the books I received this week are below, which are a combination of review and purchased copies.
I got Mark of Athena, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and Dust by Hugh Howey. I LOVED the WOOL trilogy and haven’t read Shift yet, but Dust came out pretty quickly so thought I’d pick it up to complete the collection. And how pretty is that Fangirl hardcover? It’s a hardback and the perfect size and that aqua colour is even better in person.
Review copies – physical
Thank you to Harlequin Australia, Penguin Australia and Pan Macmillan for sending me these books to review!
Got a great review pile in the mail too, too bad I didn’t know I was getting This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila Sales otherwise I wouldn’t have already bought it from TBD. I’ll have to add this one to a giveaway some time. I couldn’t wait and already finished reading Pawn by Aimee Carter which I loved and will be reviewing in a few days, and then picking up Champion by Marie Lu tomorrow! I’ve heard the conclusion to this one is awesome and way better than Allegiant, so I’m really looking forward to it. You can’t see in the photo but the book is silver foil. It’s so freaking pretty.
Heard mixed reviews about The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, but I’m keen for something a bit different and to find out about the profiling, and Crash Into You by Katie McGarry will be read when I pick up the other 2 in the trilogy (which are on my shelf).
Review copies – eARCs
Thank you to Netgalley and the associated publishers and YA Bound Book Tours for these ARCs.
New Divergent trailer – You all know how much I despised Allegiant, but luckily it hasn’t wiped out my excitement for the movie at all. The new trailer has some new scenes with even more Tris & Four action and it is HOT! I will just pretend Allegiant never happened and go watch the movie without Four whining in my head.
10 Things to Look Forward to in Catching Fire – I wrote another guest post on ibrary about the things I’m looking forward to in the Catching Fire movie! I can’t wait for it and it’s not long to go now! Check out my post here.
How do I get free physical books? I’ve gotten this question a lot since my STS posts, and to be honest, it kind of annoys me. The books are not free, they are sent to me from publishers after requesting them in exchange for reading and reviewing them on my blog. Book blogging is a lot of work, and the reasoning behind starting a book blog is not to get free books. It’s to share your honest opinions with like minded people, and I hope people understand that. If you are a book blogger wondering how to request review copies from publishers, Melanie at YA Midnight Reads wrote a great post about ARCs here
What did you add to your shelves today?
