December 7, 2013 by Jeann @ Happy Indulgence | Books, Haul

I missed out on STS last week and now I have a massive haul again. For some reason I just didn’t have any motivation to do anything then and that includes anything blog related. But now I’m back, with vigour and ready to share with you my hauls. I bought heaps of black Friday sale books on Amazon and while I was doing that, discovered quite a few free books that I’ve had my eye on. Enjoy!

Eternity by Elizabeth Miles
Searching for Someday by Jennifer Probst
The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson

Bookish News

My Catching Fire movie review – Check out my review on! I absolutely loved the movie, thought it was the best one I watched all year. Hope everyone enjoyed it too.

My Q&A is featured on Ilsa J Bick’s blog! – I took part in the Ilsa J Bick Q&A and asked her how readers will find White Space, her new upcoming 2014 release. She answered in depth on her blog here!

Hugh Howey Q&A coming up – Ask the author of WOOL any question you like on David Estes’s fan group! The Q&A runs from 11-17th December.

Signed David Estes books (Aussies) – For a limited time only, author of the Country Saga and Dwellers series is offering signed books for Australians! It is $25 per book or $22 if you buy at least 3. Message David Estes on Goodreads if you are interested.

WordPress gallery feature -How cool is the new gallery feature on self-hosted WordPress sites? I have used it throughout the post and it’s so easy to use.

What did you add to your shelves this week?

  1. Oh my goodness!! What an awesome haul! I've never heard of Of Beast and Beauty before, but it sounds like a great read, especially since I love fairytale retellings.

    Happy reading : )

  2. Wow! Lots and lots of books to read, Jeann. I hope you are still sleeping with all of these beauties. xD As you know, I also got Ten Tiny Breaths by KA Tucker 2 weeks ago.

And the cover of Beast and Beauty is just gorgeous you know. And you've got The Cuckoo's Calling. i actually enjoyed it. I am excited to know what you think of it. There's World After too. Reminds me that I have to read double time so I can start reading Angelfall.

Have fun reading all your beauties, Jeann. And don't forget to get some sleep. xD

    • Thank you Charlotte…Yup still getting some sleep, but not much! I'm actually reading Ten Tiny Breaths and the moment and wow, it is intense. I've heard so many good things about Cuckoo's Calling, even though I wasn't going to read it originally. I hope you get to read Angelfall, it's SO good.

  3. OHH you picked up The Darkest Minds, I love that book!

I wished I knew when The Testing was free, I'm curious with that one. You're lucky you got it free 😀

Anyway I love Catching Fire too, I want to watch it again!! I agree that Jen, Josh, and Liam's performances were stunning!

  4. Laurie Halse Anderson has a new book? :O *runs to Goodreads* SO JEALOUS. I missed the free Amazon deals on Testing and Kinetic, darn! Can't wait to see all your reviews!

  5. You got some a lot of books this week! I have been seeing Afterparty on a few blogs, but haven't heard a lot about it. I still plan on buying and reading Ten Tiny Breaths once, I heard a lot of great things about it. I read Beautifull Disaster a long time ago and I think it's one of the first contemporary romance books I picked up and I think that's one of the reason I loved it so much, I wonder if it's still as good when I read it now. It certainly is a good book though. I read Wait for You when it first released and really enjoyed it, hope you enjoy it too! I don't know a lot about the other books you got this week, although I have seen most of them a few times on other blogs or goodreads.

    • I know, that's what happens when I miss a STS post lol! I'm reading Ten Tiny Breaths at the moment and I'm enjoying it so far, haven't ventured far into NA yet. Glad to hear you loved Beautiful Disaster, I've heard mixed things but still want to try it for myself. Glad to hear you liked Wait for you too! Thanks for visiting, Lola.

  6. I hope you like the Darkest Minds! I really enjoyed that one. I can't wait for The Impossible Knife of Memory–I think I have received it, I'll have to wait until I come back from my holiday to see!

    Happy reading, Jeann! <33

  7. Aw, gosh, you got The Testing for free??!! NICE. (Pity I missed it! XD) I reeeally want to read The Darkest Minds. But I think I'll have to wait until it comes out and buy a copy. Of Beast and Beauty is another one I'm dying to read. (I'm dying to read a lot of books, I know, I know. But what's life without a bit of drama?) AWESOME haul!

    • Yeah, it didn't seem to be up for long at all! I've read so many good things about The Darkest Minds. Haha I totally get what you mean about so many books to read, not enough time.

  8. WOW, what a haul Jeann!! SO glad your library also has loads of awesome books!

I'm gonna be watching Catching Fire on Monday with my nephews, finally!!

And I haven't done a Showcase Sunday/Stacking The Shelves in ages either, so the backlog would be too big!! I'm gonna do one tomorrow only with the few physical copies that I've got laterly and my first approval on Edelweiss, and hope that I can do it again weekly without being too overlwhelmed!

    • I know, I really wanted to check out the library seeing as I haven't been for years and pleased to see there were heaps of great titles. I know what you mean about getting overwhelmed, this post was huge! Can't wait to see what you got 🙂

  9. Awesome haul! There's many that I'm looking forward to reading myself (like Afterparty, Mind Games, and Ten Tiny Breaths). I absolutely love Wait For You and Flat-Out Love! Beautiful Disaster is pretty good, too. And The Opportunist, though it made me want to throw my kindle at the wall. It's such a rollercoaster of a book. I have a feeling The Impossible Knife of Memory is simply amazing, and I've heard Of Beast and Beauty is a great retelling.

Enjoy your books! You got some pretty good ones this week. 🙂

    • Me too, I can't wait to read Afterparty and Ten Tiny Breaths! Glad to hear some of those books I bought are really good. Haha I've heard some people didn't like The Opportunist, I'm curious! Thank you, I hope you have a lovely week ahead 😀

  10. Nice haul!! So many good books in there! I loved Wait for Me, its one of my fave NAs ever! And Ten Tiny Breaths is my absolute fave NA! And the Coldest Girl in Coldtown is just an amazing vampire story! Enjoy your books!

    • Thanks Jen, glad to hear Wait for Me was awesome! I love how it's a standalone too. I know, I've heard endless things about Ten Tiny Breaths, I'm excited to read all of them now 🙂

  11. Holy crap, that's a big haul. Some brilliant titles there. Flat Out Love, I absolutely loved it. Celeste is one of the best characters I've had the privilege of reading. The Testing is your typical YA dystopian, but I really enjoyed it. Been dying to get my hands on book two.

Haven't you read Beautiful Disaster? I think most either love it or hate it. I couldn't stand it, the main character is verging on psychotic. You'll see what I mean.

Happy reading Jeann. Just popped up my STS post too

I've read the whole Second Sight series by Heather Topham Wood, Killing Sarai by J.A. Redmerski, & Addicted to You by Krista&Becca Ritchie and I LOVED them! I devoured these books like there's no tomorrow; I hope you enjoy them! 🙂
