Welcome to the first Stacking the Shelves post for the year! Most weekends I’ll share what books I received this week. I’m surprised I got some stuff over the Christmas break, was excited to find these books in the mail!

Review Copies – Physical

Thank you to Penguin Australia, Bloomsbury, Simon & Schuster and Text Publishing for the review books!

Review Copies – Digital

iamforever

I’m really proud of my small e-ARC pile over the past few months. Can’t wait to read I Am Forever by Wynne Channing, the long awaited sequel to the refreshing, hilarious vampire read, What Kills Me (review).

Won

KArobinsonprize

Publishers are always generous with their giveaways and I won this K.A. Robinson pack from The Racy Hearts Club, Simon & Schuster’s romance, new adult and erotica Facebook page. I’ve heard a lot about this series and can’t wait to get into it!

One of my favourite authors, David Estes has returned to Australia temporarily and I thought this was the perfect time to order some signed books. How gorgeous is the Country & Dwellers Saga put together? Each of them have a wonderful message from David as well. It’s awesome being on his street team, the Estes Angels!

Bookish News

Lifeline Bookfest – is currently on in Brisbane from now until Australia Day. Go early and get some good finds! I’ll be posting up my (massive) haul later in the week.

Vampire Academy release date – has been announced in the US and Australia. It will be released next month on February 14 and in Australia on March 6! I can’t wait to get my Dimitri fix!

Abbi Glines is visiting Australia – at the Indie Down Under Authors event at the Gold Coast, on March 22. I haven’t heard of this event but there’s heaps of NA and romance authors going. It does cost a small fee to attend though ($10) Check it out here for more info.

The Book Thief movie is out! – I haven’t watched it yet but I’ve read a few mixed reviews so far. If you’ve seen it, what do you think of it?

What did you add to your shelves this week?

  1. I enjoyed the graphic novel but you have to have read the books first. My review will be going up tomorrow. I know, signed books are the best thing ever! I hope you get your copies someday.

  2. OMG! You've bought the complete The Country Saga and The Dwellers series? I am so envious right now. I will also buy the whole lot of them since I want to finish the series too. I've already read the first chapter of Ice Country and it's really funny. I will just finish some 70% of my ARCs and get into it immediately.

And yay to the VA film. Another movie to look forward to. I hope the film makers would do things right though. And nope, I haven't watched the Book Thief yet. I haven't even read the book which reminds that I really have to do it soon.

    Lovely haul, Jeann!

    • Ooh you will love the Book thief it is an amazing form of artwork! (the book that is) glad to hear you're going to continue with the country and Dwellers series. I've read fire country and moon Dwellers but I'm going back to read the star Dwellers so that it's in order.

  3. The Book Thief was fantastically done! Soooo well cast! You have to see it!

What? March 6th? The release date of so many movies have been pushed back this year. Oh well, at least it's not too far back *cough, Fault in Our Stars, cough*

Those David Estes books ARE nice. They look so much prettier in physical form! I adored Fire Country 🙂 I completely forgot he was doing that for Aussie followers. Bother.

    • Wow glad to hear about the book thief! I have to see it. I think they actually bought forward the VA release date. I know love pretty paperbacks! Hope you get the chance to get your own copies.

  4. Wow I had no idea that the Vampire Academy books had a graphic novel to go with it. I haven't heard of the Unidentified Redhead before now but just from the title it sounds really adorable and cute. I Am Forever's cover is nice, too, with the flowers everywhere 🙂 Happy reading! <33

  5. What a cool haul! There's nothing like getting signed books from authors!

Hmmm, now you've made me curious about those vampire books, What Kills Me & I Am Forever… I need to check them out and add them to the TBR list!

  6. That is a big haul, Jeann!! I didn't get anything this week but I'm going to order some books tonight :p I haven't seen The Book Thief too — I think it hasn't come out yet in here? I'm not sure whether to read the book or watch the movie first cause when I read the synopsis it doesn't really attract me to be honest >< And I've been breaking that bookish rule about watching before reading the book recently lol.

  7. Wow awesome haul you have this week! I have reviewed What Kills Me, but didn't realize the sequel was already released. How are the Vampire Academy graphic novels?

And it's so awesome you bought all those David Estes books signed! I have the Moon Dwellers signed and I still hope that once when I have enough money I can buy the complete Dwellers and Country series signed. There is just something so special about signed books!

  8. Jeann, whatta haul! Those David Estes books are incredible, and getting them signed? Brilliant. Mine take pride of place on my bookshelf too. Congrats on your book pack win.

Bookfest sounds unreal, we've nothing remotely similar down here. Just online shopping and overpriced book stores sadly. Can't wait to see what bargains you bagged.

    • Excited about the new books coming in, I love staring at those David Estes books hehe. Yeah, the Lifeline Bookfest is the best thing ever, we have it twice it year. And I don't feel TOO guilty for spending too much because it all goes to charity.
