Giveaway: The Arcana Chronicles Paperbacks (AUS) & Birthday Post

January 30, 2014 by Jeann @ Happy Indulgence | Reflections

Stuff only having one day for your birthday – it’s birthday week for Jeann!

I think it was a few years ago I started having birthday weeks; my birthday was always on a weekday or on the first day of school (boo). A birthday week lets me make the most of the whole week with various groups of friends and whoever you want to celebrate with.

In 2014 I managed to fill a big ticket item on my bucket list – visit USA and all the famous cities and sights! My US Trip of a Lifetime is definitely something I will remember forever. It was a big travel year for me – started the year in Hong Kong, went to Cairns and Townsville for the first time for work and also went to Sydney for a friend’s birthday and Melbourne for PAX Australia. Travelling can be tiring but it also makes me happy and opens your eyes to the world out there. Next destination – tropical beach holiday!

It’s been a pretty awesome week so far filled with food and eating (it wouldn’t be a celebration without), check out the turkish feast I had a few days ago:

YUMMM! Will be celebrating today with a birthday lunch with a good friend of mine and then having my favourite Korean BBQ with family.

  1. Happy birthday Jeann!! Korean food looks delicious, I need to try it someday 😀

My birthday this year was pretty bad, there was heavy rain here and floods at some places (and ended up with a river in the middle of city in next few days), but I still managed to have dinner with my family XD

  2. Miss. Lucinda Founta

Just spending time with friends and family is how i like to spend my B'day! x

  3. Happy Birthday! What I like doing for my birthday is taking the family out to the movies. One year a local theatre had E.T. and my kids were little at the time and they loved it. The smiles on their face were my favorite present. When I was younger, for those that live in the St. Louis/Crestwood/Kirkwood area, I loved going to the Viking restaurant with my mom and dad. I don't know why, but I loved going there.

    • Thanks Marni, sounds like an amazing few birthdays that you've had! That Viking restaurant sounds great. And awww you can still remember the smile of your kids faces, that's the best birthday present a parent can get 🙂

Also … B'day weeks are the best solution. a whole week of presents and food. that sounds like a dream

This year will PROBABLY include quite a bit of traveling for us as well.

A tropical beach holiday sounds amazeballs. Do you have any specific destinations in mind right now? 🙂

HAVE A GREAT BDAY WEEK JEANN and eat tons of cake (don't be self conscious about it either 😉 it's your week to do whatever you wantttttt)

    • I know right, it only happens once a year so should make the most of it! That sounds amazing! Not really, my travel list is always endless lol. Thank you Rashika, I did eat HEAPS of cake this week – with more to come!

  5. Happy birthday, gorgeous! I celebrated mine last summer with a bunch of friends as we went overseas to Helsinki, Finland. Not a long trip from Tallinn, Estonia (where I live). I've been there so many times I can't count them on my ten fingers because I'd need more, but for some reason it was the best trip out of all the occasions so far. Perhaps because I got to spend the day with some of my closest friends. I hope that this new year will be full of awesome things and new experiences and what better way to celebrate then by travelling! Cheers, sweets!

  6. Happy, happy birthday Jeann! 😀 So jealous that you went to the US. I haven't even been outside of Asia yet. 🙁 Enjoy the rest of the week! <3

I love spending my birthday going to my favorite place to eat and spend it with my hubby.

I always make sure that I get my birthday off from work, even if I have to exchange day with my co-workers and the like!

And having a week long celebration? That's the best idea ever!! Hope you will have a brilliant time full of love, books, time with people you love and awesome food and pressies!

    • Thank you Pili, unfortunately I couldn't get a day off work this time but my co-workers definitely made it special for me so I didn't mind! Thank you, it's been an awesome time so far.

I like getting together with my family to have a nice dinner and open presents at my mom and dad's house to celebrate my birthday.
