This week’s Stacking the Shelves features CRESS my most highly anticipated book of 2014! Early reviews have said that it is awesome so I can’t wait to delve into it as soon as I finish my current read.
Won: Red Rising by Pierce Brown – I have read fantastic reviews about this one and was so excited to win a competition by Hachette Australia on Twitter! I need a good dystopian (and this one is an adult one as well) that has really good world building and I’ve heard this one is it.
Bought: Cress by Marissa Meyer – I was dying to read this for the whole week, waiting for a review copy until the publisher said they didn’t actually offer review copies for Cress. I picked it up straight away afterwards, lucky I had a $5 voucher for the bookstore! CANNOT wait to read it!
Review copies – physical
Thank you to Penguin Australia & Scholastic Australia for sending me these review copies.
Prince of Shadows by Rachel Caine – I LOVE anything that this author writes and it’s even more awesome that I’ve met her in person. I haven’t heard much about Prince of Shadows but it’s a completely different take on what she’s done before (paranormal stuff) so I’m keen to see what this Romeo & Juliet retelling is!
Marie Antoinette Serial Killer by Katie Alender – This one was a pleasant surprise in the mail and I have read reviews on it that show that I will enjoy this book 🙂
Eleven by James Phelan – I’ve got the previous 2 books on the shelf so was pleased to see the next release join them on the collection. I plan to marathon these books in a row as they are quite thin, will be a quick read.
Review copies – digital
Yes I broke my new years resolution to not request any new books but hey, at least it’s not that many right?
Lissa Price Q&A – The author of YA dystopian Starters and Enders is now answering YOUR questions on David Estes’s Goodreads Group! There is also a signed US giveaway. Check it out here.
Vampire Academy Movie is Out – I’m so jealous of all you US dwellers who get to see Vampire Academy…what’s the verdict? I’ve heard good things and bad things, is it a disappointment? Is it good? Let me know!
Vampire Academy Sydney Premiere is on 20 Feb – And both Lucy Fry and Zoey Deutch will be there! The Hot Hits is giving away tickets to the premiere for a lucky winner here.
What did you add to your shelves this week?
