Stacking the Shelves #32 – Epic Lifeline Bookfest Haul…again

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where we share what we added to our shelves this week.

I had an eventful day yesterday with the most awesome bookish day ever! It started out with visiting the Lifeline Bookfest and getting some awesome YA books that I was pretty pleased with, attending the Penguin Teen Australia The Fault in Our Stars marathon and watching the movie with Chiara, Bec, Kate and Sarah, and then visiting the Brisbane Libraries ibrary event for TFIOS. It was full of fun and bookish awesomeness and was great seeing some of our local bloggers again.

You can read about the day on Bec’s recap at Readers Wonderland here.

Also The Fault in Our stars broke my heart into two and after the movie I spent some time depressed in bed, but that’s something that I’ll talk about later when Chiara and I post up our next version of Happy Eternity Discussions.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han
Lips Touch Three Times by Laini Taylor
The Here and Now by Ann Brashares

I told myself that I wouldn’t go to the library again until my review pile is caught up but I saw that To All the Boys was in stock so I had to get it! I also saw these beautiful hardbacks, so we’ll see how we go this month with reading them.

What did you add to your shelves this week?

  1. YESS after hearing all the raves about The Wrinkle In Time I can't believe I haven't read it yet! Aristotle is up there on my list, definitely! I have heard raves about THe Girl and the long book name too. Thank you Rashika! <3

  2. I have read so many great things about the book, I had no idea it was Aussie only at the moment! Glad to hear Forgotten was good, I have enjoyed Just Like Fate and The Originals and her writing is good. Thank you Marianne!

  3. I know, the movie was a lot more emotional I think cos you were watching it happen on the screen! Yup, it is the 2nd book in her Revivalist series which I haven't read yet. Thank you Lexxie!

  4. I know, I always go crazy at book sales to make the most of them. I love these Sarah Dessen covers, they are so gorgeous! Haha it's so true, I take them back to the library and come back with a few more to read for this month. Thank you lovely!

  5. HAIRSPRAY! *sings* … nicest kids in town…

I love Hairspray, one of my favourites, and that's even before Zac Efron turned hot. Oh yes. Ahh, Fairyland. I actually have book three, but not books one and two. But YOU THERE have book one. Oh no, look over there *points and smuggles book in jacket*. Well Jeann dear, I best be off, what? No, there's nothing in my jacket, it's just chilly *runs*

  6. WOW! All. Those. Pretty. Books!! I think the TFiOS movie will make me cry too, the book certainly did! And I had no idea Rachel Caine had a book out called Two Week's Notice! I want it 🙂

I'm glad you had such a fun bookish day, and that you got to meet with some of your blogger friends, too.

Thanks for stopping by earlier, Jeann. Have a fantastic week!

  7. I've been wanting to read "How to Keep a Boy from Kissing You" for such a long time! But apparently it's only available in Australia..? Anyways, Forgotten by Cat Patrick was a really good read for me, so I hope you enjoy it! I received the same books from Edelweiss (really looking forward to reading No Place to Fall), and I bought To All the Boys I've Loved Before on Amazon as a daily deal. Enjoy all your books, lovely. 🙂

  8. Nice haul! Those two Sarah Dessen books are two of my favorites by her. The Indigo Spell is amazing! I wish I could find a copy for real cheap somewhere so I can finally add it to my shelf. I was too excited to read it the day it released, so I just bought it on Kindle instead of getting a print copy. I'm really excited to read those Harper books! Anatomy of a Misfit has been catching my eye ever since it was added to Edelweiss. It wants me to read it. 😀 I hope you enjoy your new books!

  9. Ahh you're lucky you've watched TFIOS and with all the goodie bag! I still have to wait by the end of month until the movie is available in Indonesia T_T

You got a lot of books this week, Monster Of Men without jacket looks sexy XD I just got To All The Boys I've Loved Before, curious about your thought. AND SAILOR MOON, suddenly flooded with childhood memories. I heard there's new Sailor Moon anime, I want to rewatch the old version but also curious with new one.

  10. You sound like you had fun! 🙂 I am dreading see TFiOS, because oh it was a bad few days after reading it that I don't want go through it again, haha. But, at the same time I want to, but then if I don't see it, I can pretend it never happened, lalalala. 😉 I bought Perks the other week because I wanted to read it before I finally see the film, so I'll have to get to that soon, too. Happy reading! 🙂

YOU NEED TO READ IT SOON JEANN!

And another YAY for Aristotle and Dante! You need to read this asap too.

Also I hadn't heard of The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making but color me intrigued. That title has a way of getting your attention. Plus that cover is cute! 😛

  12. Wow! What an awesome haul, Jeann!

Bookfest really seems to be a danger for getting books, but it's always awesome when they're books you've been wanting for so long!

    Happy reading!!

  13. Holy that's a lot of books hunny! Forgotten has a beautiful cover and Just Listen is a book I plan to read very soon, like, next month or two for Summer, and I have that edition, it's very pretty! Library books are my weakness too, I say 'I won't take any out, just take them back' and then I come home with like another 4-6 every three weeks, it's terrible! I really enjoy hairspray when I watch it, it's light-hearted, funny and highly enjoyable, so I hope you like it too! 😀

I SHOULD STOP.) Okay…Perks and The Scorpio Races and The Minnow??? Luuuuurve. And I reserved Aristotle from the library. Very excited. x) Emily raves about it!!
