Surrounded by family and friends, Drake and Cami face the Council, Cami’s power-hungry uncles, an ambitious twin, taking the battle all the way to Zeus to attempt to win the freedom of the Tak herd.
My review – Centaur Legacy (Touched #2)
I really enjoyed the sequel to Blood Debt, a paranormal romance series with Centaurs hidden in our midst. These Centaurs look like humans, but they have strict rules and traditions when it comes to choosing a partner to pass down their bloodline. In this book, Cami learns more about her responsibilities as a Centauride and one of the last remaining heirs to the Chiron blood line.
Cami and Drake have really grown together since the last book, and they are slowly deciding what boundaries they can and cannot cross while sticking to Centaur traditions. They made a really cute couple with honour, respect and chemistry, and even though everyone tries to break them apart or stand in their way, their loyalty and bond for each other never falters. I have to admit I did have my doubts about Drake during certain events in the book, because everyone seems to be against them, but I was glad I didn’t need to worry.
Cami really grows on her own too, with her use of Centauride powers being explored here and being able to telepathically speak to Drake through their bond. For someone who was completely oblivious to the Centaur world, she is admirably independent, loyal and strong. She will find out more about her past in this book and learn how she wants to command the future, especially with her newfound responsibilities and romance with Drake.
The world building in this series is excellent, with the centaurs and their bloodlines explored as they’re direct descendants from Zeus. There is also a hint of gods and goddesses as well which I enjoyed. Each character from different bloodlines has their own motivations for keeping the bloodlines pure, which is where a lot of the action from the book will stem from. There’s quite a bit of the “I will leave you to keep you safe” trope here but not to an annoying point.
Secondary characters are developed well, including Drake, the sinister grandmother Zandra, Cami’s best friend and half Centaur Daniel plus a few surprise characters along the way.
Centaur Legacy is an action-packed paranormal romance which delves into the uncharted world of centaurs and their customs. At is center is a beautiful romance and a strong lead who grows into her role. I recommend it for lovers of YA paranormal romance who are looking for something different.

About the Author:
I LOVE Starbucks’ White Mocha Latte and Mountain Dew, (but not together). I have a lead foot so I set cruise control when I drive, even in 25 MPH zones. I almost never win when I play Angry Birds, but have my 9 year old close, so he can clear the hard levels for me. I grew up on a farm and am opposed to eating fresh chicken (not opposed to meat – just opposed to any meat that was alive a few hours before lunch). I am a huge fan of the show, Big Bang Theory, on CBS. I share my life with two fantastic sons, three rotten dogs and a husband that I adore.
