Book Haul

Review copies – physical

STS 19 july

Heat and Light by Ellen Van Neerven – This is a fascinating entry into Australian fiction with three parts to in – Heat, Light and Water, one which is a generational family saga, one a futuristic world, and the other a contemporary.

Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater – I am so keen on reading Cole’s story, I loved the Wolves of Mercy Falls and the beautiful writing.

Thank you to UQP and Scholastic Australia for sending me these review copies!

STS 19 july bought

Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins – This is for the Australian YA Bloggers book club read this month, we are starting our buddy read on Monday 21st here.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver – This is one of the weirdest covers I’ve seen for the series but it was really cheap on TBD, less than $4 on their 24 hour sale, and I enjoyed the first book.

Love Lies & Lemon Pies by Katy Cannon – Borrowed this new release from the library, apparently it’s a contemporary that has some great recipes in it.

STS 19 july bookmarks

Thank you to David Estes Books and Skylar for sending me these signed bookmarks! I have a whole heap of David Estes ones to giveaway, keep an eye out.

Review copies – digital

Dangerous Boys by Abigail Haas I absolutely loved Dangerous Girls and sadly, the author explains why the book didn’t sell well worldwide. While the book will be available in the UK, it won’t be released in the US. Read more about it and sign up for an ARC and the book blitz here.

Bought – eBooks (Click on the covers for the Goodreads page)

ricochet addicted tigerlily unbecoming 57lives

Ricochet is currently $1.00 on Amazon and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is $1.99. The rest were purchased as the Kindle Daily Deal.

I dunno, I found that Delirium cover interesting. 🙂

*weeps* Finally in the same country as Laini Taylor but the wrong part.

  2. Congratulations on reaching 500 followers on Facebook! That's great news!

I hadn't heard of Heat and Light but I like the sound of it, I've added it to my Goodreads. So jealous you have Sinner, can't wait to read it!

I absolutely loved both Tiger Lily and The 57 Lives Of Alex Wayfare. I hope you love them too.

Great haul , thanks for sharing 🙂

  3. Hooray and now you're at 505 since I just gave you another like. Sometimes I think having that 'like' button on the sidebar encourages people to hit the like button but then I don't know since I only have about 400 likes. Facebook doesn't even bump your posts to everyone that likes your page anymore either it's unfortunate!

  4. Did you say anything other than Laini Taylor??? I totally missed it if you did 😉

Great haul, but I have to look away from that cover of Delirium. I just… can't look at it. But I hope you enjoy the inside of it!

    Happy reading!

    • I know, I'm so excited Faye! I've had some in the past but it's been a year or so since then! I will definitely take tonnes of pics hehe. No problems hun, can't wait to get stuck into it!

  5. I'm jealous of the fact that Lainey Taylor is going to Australia. I feel soooooooooo left out because no one comes to Puerto Rico. Absolutely NO ONE. However I'm glad you're going to be able to see her.

Dangerous Boys ?! *grabby hands* Hopefully this one is as awesome as Dangerous Girls was.

Enjoy all your books, Jeann! Also, what is up with that Delirium cover? Lol.

    • I couldn't believe when I heard it, just wow! I hope Dangerous Boys is great too but I've heard good things already! HAHA that's what I thought when I saw it, but oh well! Whatever works!

  6. Oh wow! What a wonderful haul Jeann! <3 Tiger Lily is one of my all-time favorite books, and I absolutely love Jodi Lynn Anderson's writing style. I can't wait to see what you think of it, and hope you end up enjoying it just as much as I did!

And you got Dangerous Boys? HUZZAH! I'm really interested in seeing how it's done. Hopefully it's just as good as Dangerous Girls! 🙂

Thanks for sharing, and happy reading! <3

I hope you'll enjoy reading Rebel Belle! I read it for the virtual book club and loved it!

I read the blog post about Abigail going to self-publish Dangerous Boys in the US, and that's such a brave move! I have Dangerous Girls in the TBR pile, I hope to get to it soon.

    Great haul, Jeann! Happy reading!

  9. I noticed that you're reading The Falconer! How is it? It looks really good, but I've heard mixed things about it. Ooh you've been busy, that's a lot of great books in there 🙂 I especially like The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. Enjoy your books and congrats on 500 likes!

  10. I hope you love Sinner! Cole and Isabel were my favorite characters in the Wolves series and I could have done cartwheels when I saw they were getting a book. And then when I got my hands on a copy at BEA? I was SO excited. I really enjoyed it.

I love Krista & Becca Ritchie's series. It is my favorite NA series right now, without question. I want these characters in a TV show. A GOOD TV show. And, of course, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is always a favorite. <3 Noah Freaking Shaw.

    Have a great week!

  12. Great haul this week, I loved Mara Dyer and can't wait to see what you think of it. Think book three in the series is due out soon. I'm so excited for Rebel Belle, I took a sneaky peek and it looks pretty good. Just finished my last read and starting it tomorrow. I'm thinking of sticking to a few chapters per day and read in in between, otherwise I'll finish it before everyone else. And love the new gaming feature, being a gaming widow myself and all 😀

  13. Heard great things about Tiger Lily and I'm interested in starting Delirium at some point in the future soon, so that's another thing. I'm SO PLEASED about you getting Dangerous Boys! Oh man, Still just as fantastic as Dangerous Girls, just with a shorter period time, more twistedness and I really loved it! Rebel Belle has seemed good too lately, so good look with your books and well done with the 500 likes!

  14. Laini Taylor is coming to Australia?? Damn, how I wish I lived there now 😛 She's one of my favourite authors.

Congrats on getting 500 likes on Facebook! That's a whole lot 😀

I also spot Tiger Lily, which is one of my favourite books ever <3 Have you read it yet? If not, prepare for heartbreak and beauty 😀

Great haul, Jeann, and YAY for Dangerous Boys, which sounds absolutely awesome.

    • I haven't read Tiger Lily yet but I know everyone loves it! Can't wait to discover Peter Pan and Tinkerbell again. I cannot wait until Dangerous Boys, it's going to be amazing! Yeah, we are so lucky to get Laini Taylor who is a superstar in my books! Thank you so much Celine!

  15. My copy of Delirium has the same cover and I'll admit to thinking it's pretty weird but I prefer it to the other one because the girl's face on the other one just creeps me out 😛 But $4 is CHEAP.

Oh and The 57 Lives of Alex Wayfare was a book I definitely enjoyed and I hope you will too!

Also yay for Rebel Belle! I cannot wait to see what you think and I really hope you'll enjoy it!

AND CONGRATULATIONS on the 500 likes *high fives*

Great Haul, Jeann and I hope you have a FABULOUS week! 🙂

    • Wow, I've never seen this cover before but I guess Aussie covers are always different. I had to snap it up at that price, I was hoping I would get a TBD bookmark too but oh well. Glad to hear you enjoyed 57 Lives, I really like the concept of it. Thank you so much Rashika! Have a wonderful week as well!

  16. Ooh, Heat and Light looks intriguing – I'll be interested to see what you think of it. 🙂 I hope you enjoy Rebel Belle, I'll hop on over to the goodreads group to join in the chat! That is also the weirdest cover I've seen of Delirium! After hearing nothing but good things about Dangerous Girls, I can't wait to pick it up sometime that's relatively soon. 🙂 I hope Dangerous Boys doesn't disappoint. Everyone seems to love The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer! I'm waiting on my own copy to arrive sometime hopefully soon – I would've already had it if there wasn't a problem with the post or something or other.

Thanks for sharing those wonderful posts, Jeann! 🙂

Glad to hear you'll be picking up Dangerous Girls, omg it's SO, So good. Like amazingly so. Ooh you should follow up your copy in that case! Thank you Ebony!

  17. Congrats on the Facebook followers. I am so bad at using Facebook with my blog – I always forget to share my posts there since I don't share them on my "personal" Facebook account (a lot of people I know in "real life" don't know that I blog and I want to keep it that way). I am trying to get better with it though. 🙂

I've heard such good things about Tiger Lily that I'm really looking forward to reading what you think about it 🙂

    Have a good week!

    • I know, Cole was one of the better characters in the original series, so I hope I enjoy! Oooh that would definitely be beautiful in Hardback. How exciting to meet Laini Taylor, cannot wait! Thank you 🙂

  20. Oh I WISH I lived in Sydney or Brisbane. Not that I've read her books yet, hehe, but I'm going to and actually I'd love to go to the Brisbane Writers festival. But anyway…ohhh, Sinner is awesome. It was just perfection and so much of the snarky banter between Cole and Isabel that I love. x) I'm all geared up for Rebel Belle this week too. Woot! Woot!
