I’ve been tagged by Alise @ Readers in Wonderland for the 20 Things You Might Not Know About Me tag. I’m pretty open on social media, but on my blog I usually keep it on topic.
1. How tall are you?
Oh yes, I’m a shorty at 158 cms. At least, that’s what it said when I was 18 getting my drivers license for the first time, but I doubt I’ve grown much.
2. Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
I used to do kung fu back in the day, so I can throw a mean punch and handle my swords *evil smile*
3. What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
Not having enough time to do all the things on the blog. HTML/CSS coding is pretty frustrating at times too, especially since it’s always different for everyone.
4. What’s your biggest non-blog related pet peeve?
I actually can’t stand people staring at me in public. It just makes me feel so self conscious and uncomfortable, regardless of whether it’s a good or bad reason.
5. What’s your favourite song?
Definitely Numb and In The End by Linkin Park, these songs have helped me through difficult times for many years.
6. What’s your favourite Etsy shop that isn’t yours?
My favourite store for soapy goodness and scrubs is definitely Savor Soaps, this stuff is addictive and is so moisturising and works so well.
7. What’s your favourite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?
This may come as a surprise but I love reading and gaming when I’m alone! I don’t game much, only when I have a big block of time like a free weekend (which isn’t often). But reading with a cup of tea next to me makes me very happy.
8. What’s your favourite junk food?
I LOVE hot chips. They are so delicious. I could eat them everyday, but I don’t because that would be bad for me.
9. Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
It is my lifelong dream to own a dog, preferably a labrador or a medium-big dog of some sort. I’ve always wanted one ever since I was a kid. I will love it with all of my heart. One day this will happen, one day.
10. What are your number one favourite non-fiction and fiction books?
You can’t ask me this question without getting multiple books, and that’s cheating. Non-fiction, it would have to be Men Are From Mars, Women are From Venus by John Gray which definitely helps you understand the opposite sex better. Favourite fiction books? Let’s see – Feed by Mira Grant, Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas, The Book Thief by Markus Zusack, Wool by Hugh Howey, Fire Country by David Estes….yeah, I’m terrible with staying exclusive.
11. What’s your favourite beauty product?
I can’t leave home without lipbalm in my bag and I’m addicted to lip products, especially NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balms, and NYX Round Lipsticks. I use the Urban Decay Naked Palette and Stila Kitten eyeshadows almost every day, as well as the Urban Decay Primer Potion for long lasting eye shadow.
12. When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
I’m actually quite a clumsy person and I embarrass myself a lot in public. So my most recent example would be yesterday when I was squeezing past someone in the toilets and walked straight into a door handle and bumped my hip. To my defense it was poking out at the side of the wall =/
13. If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would definitely be tea! I love tea so much and drink at least 3 cups a day, wake up with a chai tea, have some green tea during the day and then wind down with some herbal tea. It’s so calming as well and I love the variety of flavours.
14. What’s your favourite movie?
Impossible questions, I am a movie buff. I love the Xmen movies, most recently Days of Future Past, but I love my head being messed with in Inception. I am a big zombie movie fan and I love I Am Legend and Shaun of the Dead.
15. What were you in high school: prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist, prep?
This question sucks and I refuse to answer it and stereotype ourselves.
16. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I really, really loved San Francisco when we visited there earlier in the year. It is just such a beautiful, cultural and foodie town. An honourable mention would be Melbourne, Australia, which is a bit closer to home – but I prefer the weather in Brisbane.
17. PC or Mac?
My friends know I’m a PC girl through and through.
18. Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse?
My boyfriend is actually pretty sweet. When you’ve been together for a long time and live together, it’s less likely about romantic gestures and more about being respectful and understanding of each other. This morning our fire alarm has been making an annoying beeping sound for months, and he knows it annoys me so he replaced the battery so it wouldn’t do that anymore, even though it doesn’t matter to him.
19. Favourite celebrity?
My forever celebrity crushes will be Wentworth Miller from Prison Break and Jensen Ackles from Supernatural. Jensen in a bow tie, yes please.
20. What blogger do you secretly want to be friends with?
I think I am friends with some pretty awesome bloggers <3

Oooh I'll definitely come on and check out yours Dani! Oh yes they are sexy men XD
I think your answer to question 15 is really great- battle stereotypes! I slightly altered that question, when I did this tag, since I didn't think it was all that relevant or particularly agree with it.
Aah, tea is so nice! I was going over my tea-routine for this time last year last night, actually! It's changed a bit, and I don't actually have much of a tea routine now (this must change!!), but with NaNo coming up in a week I'm thinking that's going to change.
I can understand why you dislike people staring at you in public! I look after my neice a lot of the time, so mine is a mix of smiles and glares, since I guess some people think she's my child and that I must have had her very young. It can be frustrating, that kind of a reaction.
Romi recently posted…Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas…
Thank you Romi, most of the responses I've read to this one avoided that question as well. Oh I just love tea so much, I think it would definitely keep you motivated through Nano. Good luck for that btw! OH dear, I had the same when I was taking my nephew around. People are so judgey it sucks 😛
Hee hee love these! Hell to the yes Jensen and Wentworth! Will be doing mine this week!:-)

Hahaha oh I hope you enjoy the new lip products they are so much fun! I love the colours! Hot chips are so delicious, yummy and salty goodness <3 yumm
Hahah that's hilarious Valerie, please don't! Nah, we're not allowed pets at the moment but one day we will 🙂 That's the next goal. Oh I know, like why do objects keep on tripping me up lol!
Oh yes, every time I asked my mum she wouldn't let me get a dog. Now that I've moved out, the only thing stopping me is the place 😀 Yay for being short haha. YES we have good taste Joy <3 Oh i know, dry lips are the worst and so painful1
My mum refuses to let me have a dog, so I am definitely going to get one (and a cat!) when I move out heh. Yay for being short buddies, the world is very different from down here haha. OMG I LOVE JENSEN AND WENTWORTH. Prison Break was amazing…Supernatural needs to stop. 😛 I love lip products as well, I hate hate hate dry lips. They hurt. A lot. Thanks for sharing lovely xx

Hot chips are my weakness as well! That and potato chips. Damn, I wish I was in love with carrots or something better for me. >< Now, I'm going to have to look up all those lip products because I think I need them all in my life as well… 😀

Hehe no problems Alise, it was so much fun! Oh that would have been awesome still Alise! Oh I know what you mean, we have to use the hours of the day we have wisely <3 ONE DAY ALISE. ONE DAY YOU WILL FIND ONE
I'm not sure about Zen, but yes it was pretty awesome being able to do a martial art! I really loved it back in the day. Oh I just love tea so much, glad to hear you do too. English breakfast is still delicious 🙂 HAHA no Kelly, don't make me think of dish water! *shudders*
LOL no I blame it on my genes T_T I am pretty much a shorty.
No problems Ebony, glad to share! Thank you, I can't wait to get my doggy <3
Hehe thanks Jen, it's always interesting see the conversion rates isn't it?
I had to Google 158 cm to translate — you are shorter than I am. But clearly the kung fu makes you very intimidating!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Jen @ YA Romantics
Jen @ YA Romantics recently posted…Extra! Extra! What’s New with You?
Thanks for sharing Jeann – I loved learning more about you. 🙂 It's super cool that you used to do kung fu, and I hope you get to own your dream dog one day. 🙂

[…] to, well, do anything. I was scrolling through my emails when I came across this lovely post from Happy Indulgence. I don’t know about you, but I like getting to know my bloggers. You know, beyond their taste […]
Yay! Thanks for doing the tag 🙂
I used to do karate, I think I got to a green or blue belt, can't remember. Karate sounds totally lame next to what you did 😉 No time to do the things, yes yes. I would want more hours in a day but then they'd probably just make it so we spent even more time in school so that would solve nothing -_- That's really sweet your boyfriend did that!
#foreveralone aaaaaaha
*sobs*
I had no idea you were so Zen. Apart from the Kung Fu. The other half used to do Karate, and every time he'd have his Gi on, I couldn't help but burst into the Kung Fu Fighting song. Those kids really were fast as lightning 😀 I must admit, I'm a tea drinker too but only have a cup a day and it's only English breakfast tea. I just can't drink herbs or those ones that are supposed to be good for your digestive system. They taste a little like dish water I'd imagine.
Everyone's so tiny! Did you not eat or sleep enough as children? Is one of your parents a small dwarf? What's the go with this. I'm 22cms taller than you and feeling a little like Big Bird right about now.
They probably stare at you thinking, she's so little, I shall pop her in my pocket 😀
Thanks for sharing Jeann, really enjoyed it <3
Kelly recently posted…Book Tag: The GIF Tag
Hahaha Jeann! I'll definitely make sure to stare at you in public if I ever see you. Somehow. ANYWAYS. You should definitely get a dog! Haha! I don't know if you live in an apartment, but if you're allowed pets, then why not? 😀 😀
I'm a clumsy person as well, Always bumping into things because I'm not paying attention. I actually always zone out when I'm walking hahaha!

Take comfort in the fact that you're taller than me, Jeann!
Every time I see that gif of Dean with food in his mouth it makes me laugh. 😀 Now I have the urge to re-watch Supernatural! Those are some of my favourite songs by Linkin Park, actually. I haven't listed to them in awhile now, but I remember a period a couple of years ago where I actually would not listen to anything else, and had their songs on repeat, haha! And kung-fu?! That's pretty awesome.
Kara @ Diary of a Te recently posted…Book Review: Sacrifice by Brigid Kemmerer
Hehe, that's okay, we're still all shorties XD HAHA i know right, I just love that gif so much! There's a supernatural gif for everything definitely XD I need to catch up with the latest season, I stopped during Season 8! I can't stand seeing those spoilers pop up on Facebook though. Ah that pretty much sounds like me with Linkin Park!
I know what you mean about not always having enough time to do things with blogging – it's all well and good when there are holidays, but once life kicks back into gear time-management can be difficult. Even still, it's of course all worth it in the end 🙂 Reading with tea at the ready is one of the best things (especially in winter) and I agree, hot chips are amazing! Thanks for sharing Jeann 🙂
Oh I know, I just love my cuppa! No problems Genie, I'm glad you enjoyed 🙂
I, too am I shorty (I'm 153cm lol)! And yes to hot chips! I cannot resist them, it's terrible. That, and crispers. I love Melbourne, I miss it, haha.
And yeesss! Shaun of the Dead, I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost!
Cyn @ Book Munchies recently posted…Review: Stitching Snow by R.C. Lewis
Hehe, yay to us short people! It's always rare when you find someone shorter or the same height as you hehe XD oh my gosh, yum hot chips are sooo good. Me too, they are hilarious! I haven't seen their latest movie though, although I have it. I think it's called World's End?
Kung Fu? I did Shotokan. WE CAN TOTALLY BE NINJA TWINS.
Jensen in a bow tie = yes please. In fact, Jensen in JUST a bow tie 😉
Oh my GOSH YES. NINJA TWINS we are from now on <3 HAHAHA Jensen birthday suit anyone?
STILA KITTEN IS AMAZING!! The colour is just so amazing. But the fall out O_O Actually no regrets because it's so pretty! And um…kung fu, Jeann? You're a goddess! That's so cool. Wow, I wish I could do that! Thank you for sharing a bit about you! I just love these posts so much <3
I know right? I use it as my highlighter colour everyday! So pretty <3 Haha I did about 10 years ago lol (god I feel old). I really enjoy reading these posts as well!
What a great, hidden talent! I've always wanted to do a fighting sport. People starting at you is so annoying. I always wonder if there is something on my face/between my teeth, haha. This is such a fun tag, I need to do mine soon.
Mel@thedailyprophecy recently posted…Review 292. Elissa Sussman – Stray.
Oh I know, it was so much fun! I would like to do boxing, but I sprained my wrist from it once 🙁 Haha yeah, I wonder why they are staring and check that everything is in order lol. Hope you do yours, can't wait to read it 🙂
What a great post Jeann! It's great to find out new things about fellow bloggers!
So cool that you know martial arts, you're a blogging ninja!! =D
Ahhh, the clumsy tendency of bumping into things… I tend to do that a LOT!
Pili recently posted…First Chapter, First Paragraph #13: Damsel Distressed by Kelsey Macke!!
Thanks Pili, it was a lot of fun writing so I'm glad you liked reading it! Hehe blogging ninja XD I wish I was a ninja, that wouuld be super awesome. Oh gosh, so do I! What is it about stationary objects that make us not see them?
I know! *shakes heads*
I usually have the biggest issues with doors and tables!
Pili recently posted…Friday Reads: ARC Review of Of Scars And Stardust by Andrea Hannah!!
Great post! I think it's awesome that you know how to handle swords, and who could say no to Jensen? That man is amazing. Also, tea is definitely the way to go, and Linkin Park is awesome.
Inge @ Bookshelf Ref recently posted…The World Tour of Literary Havens: Jili
Thanks Inge, yes my skills are very limited now lol! Oh Jensen, he's so swoony and has awesome charisma. Glad to hear you love tea and LP!
THIS WAS FANTASTIC. I really like getting to know bloggers better. xD And you're also awesome, aaaaand WE'RE THE SAME HEIGHT. *hi fives* I feel like such a shrimp next to most people I know who are sooo much taller. I'm like their elbow rest half the time. -_-
But seriously, kung-fu?! You are too cool.
Jensen in a bow-tie…why yes that is incredibly fabulous. xD
Cait @ Notebook Sist recently posted…I suck at saying how much I love books
Hehe it's such a fun and easy tag to do! YES IT MAKES ME HAPPY CAIT. WE CAN BE AWESOME SHORTIES TOGETHER. Haha yes, I know right? Let me just stare some more 🙂
Ooohh I love Jensen Ackles too. Don't care if he's in a bow tie or in a birthday suit, though the latter would be preferable! *cough cough*
I loved knowing all these little tidbits. And I don't know any HTML/CSS coding *facepalm* and I don't even have the time right now to learn. The most I know is what Goodreads taught me.
I love Numb by Linkin Park too. And Leave out All the Rest. I also love Christina Perri's A Thousand Years (give me the tingle every-fricking-time).
Aarati @ The La La L recently posted…Waiting on Wednesday #8: Miss Mayhem
I totally agree, we'd take Jensen in anything anyday lol! Oh gosh, those html stuff can get painful. I have spent so many hours looking stuff up. Goodreads is good like that. Oh yes, I just love Linkin Park so much!
