Indulgence Insider #14 – 1000 Bloglovin Followers!

November 30, 2014 by Jeann @ Happy Indulgence | Features, Indulgence Insider

Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!

Happy Indulgence reached a massive milestone this week and last – 1,600 Twitter followers and 1,000 Bloglovin followers! I am totally excited and THANK YOU so much. I really appreciate all of you guys and all of my recent giveaways are to say thank you. I also finished my GR challenge and have read 120 books this year, yay!

I’ve installed a new commenting system, Intense Debate on the site after reports that people were having trouble commenting. So far, it seems to be working well and I love how fast it is. Please let me know if you guys experience any problems with it!

Last week I saw Mockingjay Part 1 in Gold Class and it was freaking emotional and epic! It really did pull at my heart strings and I felt teary at times, knowing all the action will be in Part 2 I was definitely satisfied with it.

Yesterday I went to Supanova to hear Jack Gleeson’s panel (Joffrey from Game of Thrones).

Also got my books signed by Juliet Marillier and Sean Williams at Supanova 🙂

Congratulations on your milestone, dear!! You deserve it and all the more as you're one of the best bloggers in this demographic that I know of! I hope you get to 2000, 3000, and then a milliion 😛 Haha! You had a lot of books there and I for one am terribly envious. So glad that you loved Dangerous Boys, too!
My recent post ARC Review: Top Ten Clues You’re Clueless by Liz Czukas

  2. Gosh, you've been busy. All those bookies! *makes googly love eyes*
Congratulations on both your Twitter and Bloglovin' milestones, that's absolutely HUGE! I'm really looking forward to seeing what you think of After The End. I bought a copy thinking it was post apocalyptic and judging by most reviews, it's really anything but.

Have a awesome week of reading Jeann bean <3
PS: The new commenting system works a treat 🙂
My recent post I Was Here by Gayle Forman

    • These are my books in the past 3 weeks, I guess that doesn't make it sound so bad. Thank you so much Kelly, I'm totally chuffed. Yeah, I've read my fair share of reviews on After The End and I'm prepared, so I'll have to let you know what I think. So glad to hear you are liking the new system, seems like it's working for everyone, except for the weird Michael hiccup *coughs*
My recent post Talon by Julie Kagawa Review: Lamest Dragons Ever

  3. The panel with Jack Gleeson sounds really fun. I've heard great things about the Mockingjay movie! Looks like you got some fantastic books. Hope you enjoy them! Have a great week!

  4. OMG! Congratulations on reaching 1,000 followers Jeann! What an amazing accomplishment! Although, to be completely honest, I am not one bit surprised because your blog is absolutely fabulous and your reviews and discussions are always so intelligently written.

And yeah for a physical copy of Dangerous Boys! 😉 That's always fantastic! And I am interested in seeing what you think of Made for You – it's similar to Abigail Haas' work concept-wise and is just as twisted.

Thanks for sharing, and happy reading!
My recent post This Shattered World

    • Awww thank you so much Zoe, *blush* I'm glad people enjoy it hehe. Ooh I'm really looking forward to reading Made For You, especially since you compare it to Haas! Thanks hun, have a wonderful week.

    • Yeah, sometimes standalones and new books are easier to get into I think. Hope you enjoy it Tabitha, cant' wait to hear what you think.

  5. Wait Talon is already being made into a movie? Huh. ANYWAYS CONGRATS ON YOUR BLOGGY MILESTONE! THATS SUPER AWESOME!

And look at all those books. I'll be looking forward to your review of Talon, even though you were disappointed by it 😛

  6. WOW, Jeann! Lost of things going on this past week! I love the new books you've added to your shelves.
I can't wait to see Mockingjay part one, it sounds so good!
Have a fantastic week, Jeann, and happy reading.
My recent post Sunday Post #8 – Concert

    • Yeah, this is what happens when I don't update Indulgence Insider for 3 weeks lol! So much does happen usually. I hope you enjoy Mockingjay Lexxie, it was so good! Happy reading to you too.

    • It's what I use primarily to follow other blogs and keep up with posts, it's really handy that way. I know what you mean though, it's hard to do too much at once! I pretty much create different groups for the favourite blogs that I check out and login every once in a while 🙂

    • Thank you lovely, I love visiting those conventions for that reason alone! Commentluv is awesome, I totally recommend it to pick up your latest posts.

  7. Oh wow! What a huge haul. And man he looks so much nicer than his character! I hated that kid on the show! I LOVE the cover of Talon, but unfortunately, I've not had a ton of luck with Julie Kagawa's books in the past. 🙁 Hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know

    • Hehe thanks Sandy, he's definitely a nice guy in person as well. Everyone hated him, shows what a good actor he was! Yeah, too bad about Kagawa. I like her other books except for Talon 🙁 Thank you lovely!

    • Thanks Pili, Supanova is always so much fun, I love conventions. Yay for followers, I love them all <3 you too Pili!

  8. Congrats on those awesome milestones! And yay for shiny new books! Ah Supanova, I didn't go to the one here this year, but I definitely will next year! I hope you enjoy all your great new reads!

The new comment system is great so far. I thought the issues I've had previously were just related to my browser or something since that's usually the case, so I never said anything, oops.
My recent post Showcase Sunday #19

    • Thank you Wattle, I'm great this new one is working better for you. Yeah, I don't go every year, only when there's someone famous I want to see hehe.

    • I've heard so much about Far From you, I can't wait to read it! I'm so disappointed about Talon and sad to report that to everyone too.

  9. loonytuney

Congrats for the 1000 and 1600 followers! That's awesome 😀 I'm almost at 1000 Twitter followers which is exciting. Oooh Supernova looks like it was a lot of fun – Joffrey's the one everyone hates, right? 🙂 Shame Talon was disappointing 🙁 it looks so good.

    • Thank you Emily, it's so exciting when you get to 1,000 twitter followers! You deserve them as well, you're awesome too <3 Haha yes that's the one everyone hates, but he's so lovely in person! Such a great actor.

I've heard do much about Far From You so I hope you enjoy it as well! Hopefully it'll give me an incentive to go out an buy it. Strangely enough, I was staring at it for a week straight about two weeks ago, but it was on the highest shelf and I just couldn't be bothered to jump on a ladder and bring it down. Now I totally regret it xD
My recent post Seeking Saturday's Read #14: On Christmas-fying the Blog, Half-Clothed Waiters and the Joy(ful pain) of Sales

    • Than you so much lovely! I can't wait to read Far From You as well, have heard wonderful things and I love thrillers. Hahah it took me ages to buy it as well, staring at me from Dymocks cos it's quite exxy. But it was inevitable XD

  11. Ebony

CONGRATULATIONS on all of those lovely followers, Jeann – that's amazing! 😀 You deserve them all and many more.
Glad you loved Mockingjay! I still haven't gotten around to watching it. I need to, though. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Talon – I'll be looking out for your review of it. Glad Dangerous Boys was wonderful! I really need to read Dangerous Girls. The Ghosts of Heaven and Far From You have such gorgeous covers – lucky to have scored them in the Dymocks sale. 🙂 Looking forward to your thoughts on both of those, and also Mortal Danger, After the End and Made For You. I didn't know that Talon had been optioned for a movie – sounds as though it has a great premise for a film.

Hope this week is fab and happy reading, Jeann. 🙂
My recent post Dracula’s & A Book Launch

    • Thank you so much Ebony, I appreciate it! Oh my gosh you need to watch Mockingjay, it was soo good! I need to see it again lol. Yeah, my review for Talon will come up soon. Sooo sad about it lol.

Oh my gosh READ DANGEROUS GIRLS. it's one of the best books I've read all year. Hope you have a fabulous week ahead too lovely!

    • Yes they are the best aren't they? I haven't read her books yet but I hear high praises from almost everyone. Thank you so much Joy!

  12. CONGRATS ON YOUR AMAZINGNESS!! 1,000 followers is soooo awesome. ^-^
Talon is bad?! *cries* I was dubious about it because I heard someone say it wasn't dragony enough?? Totally keen for your review though. And I'm interested to see what you think of Ghosts of Heaven. That was intense. And strange. >.>
BUT MADE FOR YOU IS AMAZING. And by "amazing" I mean "freaking terrifying". XD
My recent post Guest Post: Characters vs Me by Amanda @ Book Badger

    • Oh thank you so much Cait! Yeah, I was really disappointed with Talon. It felt like a paranormal romance with a little dragon thrown in, not nearly enough to keep me interested. I CANT WAIT TO READ MADE FOR YOU! So glad you are back Cait, I was starting to miss you!

    • Thank you so much Cyn! *throws confetti back* I know, I can't believe the next movie is a year away, biggest cliffhanger ever! You too, lovely!

  13. karawrites15

WOW! Congrats on achieving that many followers on Twitter and Bloglovin'!! 🙂 That's seriously amazing, and I'm not at all surprised; this is such a fantastic blog. <3 It's such a shame to hear that about Talon, though–Julie Kagawa is one of my favourite YA authors, and I have a copy of Talon sitting on my shelf. Now I'm a little hesitant, haha. xD Great book haul, though. I'm yet to read Dangerous Boys and I'm really hoping I'll love it just as much as the first book.
My recent post Sunday Weekly Wrap Up (39) & Stacking the Shelves (21) In Which Kara Took An Unexpected Hiatus

    • Thank you so much Kara, it's thanks to all of you awesome people 🙂 Awww shucks! I'm glad you guys enjoy it. Oh trust me, I'm super sad about Talon. I think I gave it 1 star which I've been deliberating over, part of it is because I was expecting so much better. Can't wait to hear what everyone's thoughts are on it though. YOU WILL love Dangerous Boys, trust me!
