Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!

I’ve drawn my birthday giveaways for the month and sent them off. Congratulations to Marga, Kayley, Jaime for winning some new books coming your way. Instagram will be drawn soon.

This week I launched my first blogging tips and tricks feature, Happy Blogging. Let me know if there’s anything you would like a guide on!

I visited two restaurants, Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant (pictured below) which was fairly average but had an awesome menu, and Gerard’s Bistro which was amazing. It had black ants on the menu which was surprising!

I also got my February Lootcrate which came with a book I’ve wanted to read for a while, Ready Player One! I totally recommend Lootcrate over Arcade or Nerd block, it’s so much fun.

I am terrified to read The Winner's Crime! But I want to buy it for my shelf, and it can sit there prettily until I get up the guts to read it. 😀

I'm finishing The Night Huntress series this month… I love Bones. 😀 I think I'm meeting the main dude in those other books soon.

I hope you have a fantastic week, girl!

    • Oh my gosh I've wanted to read it so badly but my current book is dragging! Man, I just love the Night Huntress series, it was such a beautiful, bittersweet ending. Can't wait for you to read the spin-offs!

I'd be very interested to see how Looking for Alaska is turned into a movie. It has been awhile since I read it, but I remember not liking the book at all and thinking the entire plot was weird :/ I think I missed what the point of that book was haha.
My recent post Weekly Recap: February 22th – 28th

    • I know, I\’m so glad I signed up, I\’ve been pleased with each one I\’ve gotten! Glad to hear. Thanks Jennifer, you too!

  3. Ready Player One sounds really good, Jeann, and so do The Winners Curse and Kissing in America! I hope you'll enjoy all your new books 🙂
    It's so cool that there's a giveaway for Insurgent movie-tickets! I wish I lived in Australia 😉
    Have a fantastic week ahead.

  4. I tested out both Loot Crate and Nerd Block and I'm not sure which I prefer D: they both have fun stuff. I'm just waiting for Marvel's Collector Corps to have international shipping (might be waiting a while though, ugh).

Oooh it looks like you have some fun new books to read! I hope you enjoy them all 🙂

    • So did I, I loved my first Nerd Block Classic but wasn\’t impressed when I tried out Arcade block. The coolest thing I got from there was a Portal scarf, but I got heaps of Nintendo shirts I\’m not really a fan of. Let us know what you think of Marvel\’s Collector Corps when it comes out!

I'm so happy Ready Player One was in the Loot Crate! My boyfriend isn't much of a reader, though he'll pick up a book if I recommend it to him (which is rare because he's picky) and he's blazing through it! He bought the kindle version to take to work with him so he gave me the paperback, now I get to read it! Super excited to get started.

You got the Winner's Crime! I want this book so BAD. I just finished reading the Winner's Curse and absolutely loved it.
I just bought The Last Time We Say Goodbye to read for the challenge. Looking forward to it.
Unwanted looks interesting, I haven't heard of it before. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on it
My recent post Review: The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black.

    • Man I have heard so many great things about it, I can\’t wait to read it! I\’m reading Last Time we Say Goodbye for the challenge as well hehe.

  7. Omg I saw an unboxing of this month's Lootcrate and was so jealous that Ready Player One was in it!!! I don't have the money to subscribe to it at the moment so I'll have to live through its awesomeness through you Jeann 😛 YAY FOR NIGHT FILM!!! I hope you love it, it's such a brilliant read. <3 <3

  8. I loved, loved, loved The Last Time We Said Goodbye, Ready Player One and The Winner's Crime – so I hope you end up enjoying those just as much as I did Jeann! 😀 Thanks for sharing, and I hope you enjoy all these wonderful new books!

  9. READY PLAYER ONE! Ohhhhhh, I LOVED IT! It's a mixture of dystopian, science fiction and completely retro 80's. You'll love all the 80's references, even hubster read and loved this one. I effing LOVED IT! I'll be crushed if you don't enjoy it. The Winner's Crime is delicious. The few snippets of romance in that one is hot and incredibly intense. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it Jeann. Nice haul this week, I bought The Last Time We Say Goodbye, only because I have no idea where my local library is 😀
My recent post The Honest Truth by Dan Gemeinhart

    • Glad to hear, everyone is raving about it so I'm twice as excited now! Thanks Kelly, can't wait to read it together.

Ok Jeann, I'm afraid once I read that there were "black ants on the menu" you lost me for the rest of your post. PLEASE tell me I read that wrong! Now I am traumatized, LOL! I seriously hate and fear ants.

  11. That Lootcrate looks awesome and Ready Player One has been on my to-read list for a while as well. Both those restaurants you visited sound good! It's been a while since I last visited a restaurant. Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
My recent post Sunday Post #115

    • I know, it was exciting to get a book I wanted from Lootcrate! Thank you lovely, have a good one as well!

    • Hahah I don't know about fascinating instead of gross! Great idea, I should read a recap of The Winner's Curse first.

  12. I love lootcrate! Awesome, that ready player one was in the box, Ive been wanting to read that one. I subscribed in October to the Zombie loot crate and it had the book "How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters: Fight Back When Monsters and Mother Nature Attack" it was really funny. 🙂

    • Excellent, I've heard lots of raving and excitement about the book, so I look forward to reading it! Thanks Krystianna, you too!

  13. Is it just me, or are a lot of books utilizing signs for their covers now? Seems like a trend! Anyways, I still need to read Ready Player One! I even have it on my shelf but I just haven't gotten to it 😛 I'm glad you had such an amazing month. I really need to get on Read Play Blog because I have not been doing a good job of that.

    Have an amazing March Jeann!

….Black ants O.o Like the insect??? Yeah don't think I'd be that brave to order that haha. I'm the most picky eater ever so ants are definitely pushing it lol.

Ooooo both of the books you got for review seem interesting. I'm so excited for March 3rd because I need to figure out what's next for Kestrel. I read The Winner's Crime and gave it 3.5 stars, but I've been hearing so much praise for the second one (people are saying it's better than the first) so I'm beyond excited.

Curious to hear you reviews for YOU and Unwanted. I'm not a huge dystopian fan because they all read the same for me, but the whole crow eye angle you mentioned sounds quite intriguing. As for YOU, oh my god it seems so creepy in the way you can't look away.

I've missed commenting on your blog <33

  15. I'm completely excited about Looking for Alaska being a movie. ^_^ AND PAPER TOWNS OF COURSE. I seriously seriously hope they're releasing the paper towns trailer soon or I'm going to explooooode. I'm kind of excited/nervous about The Winner's Crime because I wasn't as in love with The Winner's Curse like everyone else. *gulps* I didn't ship Arin and Kestrel and THAT IS BAD OF ME. but hopefully this one will totally steal my heart. I LOVE the covers.
My recent post Weekly Fury #43 // Goodbye February, Peter Pan, and Gargantuan Mushrooms

    • I haven't read either of them so I hope I'll enjoy them! I've heard that this one does a lot better than the first in terms of development, so hopefully that convinces you on the couple hehe.

    • So have I actually, those crates are the funnest things hehe. Oh good, we have so many great books on this end of the year!
