There's bound to be trouble in Paradise . . .

When her parents decide a change will be good for her, seventeen-year-old Lexie Atkinson never expected they'd send her all the way to Paradise City. Coming from a predictable life of home schooling on a rural Australian property, she's sure that Paradise will be amazing. But when she's thrust into a public school without a friendly face in sight, and forced to share a room with her insipid, hateful cousin Amanda, Lexie's not so sure.

Hanging out with the self-proclaimed beach bums of the city, sneaking out, late night parties and parking with boys are all things Lexie's never experienced, but all that's about to change. It's new, terrifying . . . and exciting. But when she meets Luke Ballantine, excitingdoesn't even come close to describing her new life. Trouble with a capital T, Luke is impulsive, charming and answers to no one. The resident bad-boy leader of the group, he's sexier than any boy Lexie has ever known.

Amidst the stolen moments of knowing looks and heated touches, Lexie can't help but wonder if Luke is going to be good for her . . . or very, very bad?

Today I’m promoting Paradise City, a really steamy summer NA set in high school. The book wasn’t for me, so I’ll be posting my review at a later date, but in the meantime, check out the characters:

Paradise City Card Lexie

Lexie is the hilarious and bubbly ‘country girl’ who has just moved to the big city. She’s really funny and a little boy crazy.

Paradise City Card Ballantine

The sexy bad boy Ballantine was really smouldering, but he has a sweeter side to him that he only shows Lexie.

Paradise City Card Amanda

Amanda is the bitchy rebel cousin of Lexie’s, who she eventually learns to have a tolerable relationship with.

Paradise City Card Boon

Ballantine’s best friend who Amanda is paired up with.

Paradise City Card Dean

It isn’t a romance novel without the broody older guy.

Author pic C J DugganAbout the Author: C.J. DUGGAN is an internationally bestselling author who lives with her husband in Mathoura, a rural border town of New South Wales. Her self-published Summer series has sold over 180,000 copies worldwide, and PARADISE CITY is her eighth book, and the first in a new series of New Adult romance.

When she isn’t writing books about swoony boys and 90s pop culture you will find her renovating her hundred-year-old Victorian homestead or annoying her local travel agent for a quote to escape the chaos.

    • Yeah, some of their quotes are definitely cliche aren't they. I'm not sure about Boon lol, kind of sounds like "Baboon"

  1. Too bad this wasn't for you Jeann but NA is a hit or miss for me too so I can totally understand. But even though this wasn't for you, I'm sure some readers would like it because from the comments, it's been getting quite a few good reviews. I'm definitely looking forward to your review though, I'm a bit picky when it comes to NA so I do read a lot of reviews before deciding to read one.

    • Yeah, the only NA\’s I\’ve read are from K.A. Tucker, Colleen Hoover and Krista & Becca Ritchie, so it\’s a lot to live up to!

I'm with Kara – new adult isn't typically my thing (as you know), so I'm not sure this would be for me. It's a shame it was a bit mediocre for you Jeann, but thanks for sharing regardless!

Awwww, I had a feeling you weren't going to be a fan of this one. I'm still reading it. (Yes, I'm a ridiculously slow reader. >.< ) I'm halfway through and actually really enjoying it. I don't know how to categorize it yet. It's YA high school age, but reads more like a NA with some of the content. I'm sorry you didn't care for it. I'm interested in seeing your thoughts once you post your review.

    • Yeah, I really tried to like it Lisa but it wasn\’t for me – I\’ll post my review in a few weeks. I do actually think it\’s pretty much a YA book with some sex scenes in it.
