Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!

This week was a stressful one for me, there’s lots to do at work but the exciting news is that I’ve booked a holiday to Hawaii! I’ll be going with some friends and the boyfriend February next year for about 2.5 weeks, I’m really excited.

Thanks for helping me decide what to do with The Girl at Midnight, I ended up watching The Flash instead (which I am really loving btw!) and binge reading the White Trash Zombie series. I read the first two books in two days, I really loved the series!

Excited to announce that my co-reviewer Kristy will be posting her first review tomorrow! It’s awesome, guys.

I also watched the latest Game of Thrones episode (S5, E6) and it really upset me with the way the handled a certain scene. No doubt you’d heard about some of the uproar, but I don’t support the way they treat women in the show and I refuse to watch it anymore.

Great new haul! I'm so curious about The Potion Diaries, so I will definitely be on the lookout for your review!
    Happy reading, lady!

  2. Ah, I haven't really gone to my library for a while because not being in an English speaking country the books are very limited, and I feel like I have enough of my own copies to be reading as well xD But I do like the idea of Magonia and also Polaris that I saw you borrowed there!

You've got a great haul this week! Magonia is a book that I am really looking forward to reading. I'm also very curious about The Potion Diaries. I hope you enjoy all of your books 🙂

    • Heheh thank you Faye! I know, I actually typed my previous post at the start of the week when I was still feeling crappy lol. Oh my gosh, White Trash Zombie is amazing! Sooo good. Hahaha I know you like disturbing books 😉

  4. Zoe

AHH! So many fantastic books this week Jeann! I really liked Vanishing Girls and Everything Leads to You, so I am super curious to read your reviews for those. And I've heard nothing but glowing things about Magonia and Denton's Little Deathdate so I'm crossing my fingers that you like them as much as everyone else seems to have. Thanks for sharing Jeann, and fantastic haul! Hopefully one of these gets you out the little slump you've been in lately!
My recent post Court of Thorns & Roses

    • Glad to hear you loved then both Zoe, I've heard great things about both of those books! Thank you, I hope I can get out of the slump too!

    • Heheh it feels like it\’s either one or the either isn\’t it? Oh I know, that\’s why I went to the library instead…

    • Heheh I hope so too, it\’s not until next year though but I\’m looking forward to it. Yeah, I just don\’t enjoy GoT anymore.

    • I knoww, how good is the series! I\’m onto the 3rd book already in just a few days! The library doesn\’t have 4 and 5 though, so I\’ll have to Kindle them or something. Will do, I don\’t go until next year though!

  5. What an awesome week in books especially review copies. I think I ended up with seven last week, gosh that's a lot of books. All unsolicited too, makes me glad I don't request anything any more. Denton was so incredibly funny, really surprised me. Reading Me Being Me at the moment and really can't get into it sadly, the list style format is really jarring.

Hawaii? Oh bloody hell, that sounds incredible! I envy everyone who is out seeing the world. I've never really had that travel bug, been up and down the coast and through all the country towns, but never left Australia. Maybe one day when we're old and don't have a mortgage. Awesome stuff!

Can't wait to meet the new poppet too <3
My recent post Liberty's Fire by Lydia Syson

    • I know, I have a few to pick up from the post office as well! Yeah, I love travelling, if I didn\’t travel so much I probably would have a home 😛

  6. fangswandsfairy

Hawaii is fabulous – impossible not to love it. It really is paradise! I don't read any YA so the books you have there – and quite a lot of them, I must say – don't overlap mine.

    Have a fab week!

  7. tonyalee

Ah, HAWAII! That will be so much fun!!

This was the first time I saw the trailer, and whew. 😛 haha have a good week!

  8. Elizabeth

I am the worst about returning library books if I haven't finished reading the whole pile. Luckily they love me at the library and allow me unlimited renewals.

  9. Eugenia

Awesome post Jeann and it looks like you have some fantastic new reads to get to! I hope you enjoy Vanishing Girls – unlike Panic which I didn't enjoy quite as much, that one did impress me. Magonia looks fantastic too, I hope to start my copy soon 🙂 Thanks for sharing, hope you have a fantastic week <3

  10. Grace @ RebelMommyBB

Oh Hawaii I am so jealous!!! I went for my Honeymoon and was probably tied for my favorite place we have gone. You had a great haul this week. My interesting fact is that my best friend went to school with the author of Denton's Little and said he was the nicest guy. Hope you have a great week!
My recent post Weekly Rewind ~ 5.24.15

    • Oh my gosh, you must have some fantastic memories tied to that place! Thank you Grace, that's a really fun fact. Glad to hear the author is lovely 🙂 have a lovely week as well!

  11. Yay for holidays! I think planning vacations is the best part (I hate the fact that once you leave and come back, it's like it never happened 🙁 )

Ah GoT. I know a few people who have decided to not continue watching also. I've not seen a lot of the show (most of s1, and that was enough to make me uncomfortable) but I've heard all about it. I think I'll just stick to the books, when I get around to reading them :/
My recent post Showcase Sunday #26

    • I know, it's always the worst when you come back from holidays! Fair enough, yeah the show was just too much for me. I don't really regret stopping.

    • Interesting, it sounds a little like it's trivializing the topic? I don't know, I'll have to read it.

    • Thank you Nicole, I just finished it and had trouble connecting. Oh wells, hopefully I'll enjoy the next book.

  12. keionda

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your books! Too bad you has to return them but WOOT! WOOT!That you came away with EVEN more books. (Always a plus) I've heard really good things about White trash zombie serie but am hesitant to read them. glad you liked them. 🙂

    • Hehhee I know, too bad, but at least I can pretend for the month or so that I have them. Yeah, I was hesitant too but I don't know why, it's so good!

    • Thanks Jocelyn, many of those are new to me as well. Yess I do hope you look into White Trash Zombie, it's awesome!

  13. The Potion Diaries looks really good. Nice haul this week. Happy reading and enjoy the week.

BTW I love your site layout, so adorable 😀

  14. Is there any point in me commenting now? *sobs* I'M NO WHERE NEAR FIRST. Omg. The pain! The anguish! I HAVE FAILED YOU, JEANN.
*wallows in misery for 3 seconds*
But also: yay for libraries!! I didn't go to the library this week and have like 9 books to return. 0-0 Lucky there were so many unsolicited ARCs this week! YAY. I shall not run out of books. <– ultimate fear there

Omg, I heard (and I think read) some of the GoT controversy and the article (yeah I know it had spoilers) made me quite sick. I don't know if I should keep watching or not. :O I'm only on S1. I wanted to read and watch simultaneously. But…yeah.
    No.

    • Heheh don't worry Cait, I still love your comments! Man, I totally know what you mean about the library, I just can't stay away. I walk in thinking "I have a million books I need to read already" but then I go and pick up stuff like a kid in the candy store. Yeah, it sounds like you're pretty far behind in GoT, but you loved the story, so see how you go.

  15. lissiet

You holiday sounds like it is going to be amazing, I NEED to go on vacation! I have heard good things about The Flash, I should check it out.
I don't really like the cover of Denton on the copy you received. I don't think I would have picked it up with that cover!
Missie @ A Flurry of Ponderings

    • I knoww, I think we're all feeling it at this point! Definitely check out The Flash, it's exciting. Yeah, Denton seems like it's for the MG audience, hopefully not though.

    • I know, I was surprised to see the package turn up with so many books! Glad to hear you're keen on Denton, I just saw Cait's comment on your blog so that sounds promising.
