Phew, it’s been a super busy time lately, I have barely had time to blog! I don’t know what I would do without Aila and Jenna and scheduling!

Next week I’m heading to Brisbane Writer’s Festival and catching up with lots of authors and bloggers. I’ll also film an August reading wrap up and put it up separately when I get the chance.

It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for I finally put up my bookshelves in my new home! I feel so much better now that it’s up, it took a straight 6 hours of rearranging, moving boxes and unpacking! I originally wanted to do a full rainbow, but I realised that 50% of my books actually have black spines. So I just arranged it into 1 rainbow shelf and my favourites/display books.

Because I can’t fit all my books on the main shelves, I’m using my old bookshelves in one of the bedrooms featuring my TBR pile, review copies and books I haven’t gotten around to reading yet. Also there’s a lot of the black spined books that didn’t fit into the rainbow.

Loop Day Event – 3 September

I got the chance to head to the exclusive preview of Miss Peregrine’s Home of Peculiar Children at our local cinema. Penguin Teen Australia held a competition for a few lucky people to attend, and my friend couldn’t go so she gave me her spot! It was such an awesome event, with lots of fun activities – got one of my nails painted, some yummy doughnuts, fruit carving and a tattoo.

We also got this amazing goodie bag featuring tickets to movie when it comes out! The movie looks like it’s going to be amazing, with some great actors and scenery as directed by Tim Burton. I haven’t read the book yet but this definitely makes me excited for the movie.

#MonthofMaas Trivia Challenge – YouTube

The amazing Piera Forde invited me and Aprilius Maximus to take part in her Month of Maas quiz on the Throne of Glass series. This video is basically just me laughing my ass off but you can tell how much fun we all had! It was really inspiring seeing other people’s book rooms and her vlogging set up!

Check out the video here. (Warning: Throne of Glass series spoilers!)

OZYAY on Air – September

Today, we’re talking about two recent Aussie YA releases live on ABC Radio. I gave both of these books 3 stars, I enjoyed them but they weren’t without issues. I’ll review them soon on the blog!

As always, will post up the link to the podcast once it’s up. Or subscribe to the #LoveOzYA podcast here!

What about Jenna & Aila?

Aila recently got back from hiatus during her holiday in Bali which looked really stunning!

Jenna has been hauling books and attended the Melbourne Writer’s Festival and met David Levithan & Rainbow Rowell! (I’m totally jealous)

How was your bookish month?

    • Hehe thank you so much Em! I'm so glad it's finally up! Yeah, lots of fantasies are black spines lol. YES That Miss Peregrine's event was so fabulous! It was actually the Fox Studios PR person, which makes sense because they have more budget 😉

    • Yessss I'm so glad to finally be set up! Glad to hear you enjoyed Wolf Road, I haven't heard much about it but I'll have to check out your review! Hope you are going well Christy.

  2. OMG!! It's like looking a gorgeous paradise!! Love the new bookshelves, Jeann!! ♥ Hopefully, one day I'll have the amount of books you have ahahaha Enjoy, and enjoy… Oh, and ENJOY!!

Oh my gosh, I'm so in love with your shelves, Jeann! Hehe, I also had the same dilemma (too many black spines) when I tried the rainbow shelves so mine looks a little off, but whatever. I love the final arrangement of yours though! And omo, all those awesome books. Hope you enjoy! ^.^

I haven't really been active in the blogosphere but I hope you are well! 🙂

    • Hehe thank you Summer! Yeah, most fantasy books seem to be black spines for some reason! Thank you so much, I hope you are going well too with school and everything! <3

I just bought A Torch Against the Night yesterday and I cannot wait to start reading it! It's beautiful and I've been waiting all year for this book to come out.

    • Thank you Joy! White bookshelves are so gorgeous and make the colours really stand out. Lol yesss I have admired your living room shelves frequently 😛

  5. I thought about attending BWF but had already decided to go to the ProBlogger conference this year. I've skipped the last two but then I decided I'd probably get more out of BWF but I wasn't sure if any bloggers were going so decided the networking at PBEvent would be okay.

Look forward to hearing how it goes!

  6. Thank you so much Cait!! I have been staring at it all day hahaha <3 I love it. I have seen your rainbow bookshelf, it's the prettiest! I have 2 big bookshelves in the room for my other books lol. 1 of them is completely black XD

  7. Greg

Awesome haul! I want to read Nerve (and Starflight too). And love the bookshelf pics. Nothing like nice shelves full of books. 🙂 Miss Peregrine's looks like it's going to be fun, to be honest the book never really appealed to me but seeing the movie trailer definitely has me curious now.

    • Thank you Lexxie! Yeah, I know what you mean, that's why I have spare bookshelves in the room lol! These are Ikea Billy shelves and they work beautifully! Have a lovely week ahead, yourself <3

  8. Jaz

SUCH PRETTY SHELVES JEANN AHHHH. Have you considered converting the spare room into a library? 😀

The Loop Day thing looks pretty hectic, the thing with the jaws and big cucumbers looks freaky as. I need to read Miss Peregrine's!

    Great haul happy reading

    • Thank you so much Jaz! I actually took ages deciding because I wanted to see where to put my shelves, in the room or the living room but now I have bookshelves in both places hahaha. It's actually too small for a library! Yeah, Loop Day was so cool hehe! It's making me hyped for the movie and the book.

    • Thank you Kara!! Ahhh I remember those times, I got 2 new bookshelves and was still double/triple stacked! I can't wait for Torch Against the Night, I hope it lives up to expectations! Thanks for comment, Kara <3
