Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!

Hello clouds and cloudettes, I am melting from the heatwave going through Australia at the moment. Thankfully I got to escape the heatwave (for the most part) with our bi-annual Lifeline Bookfest, the biggest second hand book fair in the world! As always, it’s great catching up with local bookworms and getting lots of great bargains. It’s basically two massive exhibition halls filled with rows and rows of books to satisfy the inner bookworm. I’ve been going for years ever since I was a kid, and it’s something we definitely look forward to!

The YA section is quite limited, so we usually get up before the door opens and head in. And it’s all raising money for Lifeline too which is even better!

  1. It's my favourite thing to do and I look forward to it every year! But so many books I haven't read from it lol. Yesss I can imagine it being hella awesome.

  2. IT WAS THE BEST Cait! I hope to meet you one day (prob when Maggie Stiefvater visits Brisbane). Yup, most of them are in great condition! The Uprooted is ripped on the bottom spine but it doesn't affect the reading or pages at all. Plus at $5, seriously. LOL. 10 CENTS?! OMG that is freaking epic!

Ooh that bookfest looks amazing! I've been in only one bookfest in my whole life, but it was awesome and I can't wait to go again 😀 I haven't been able to read anything this week because finals, but now that finals is over I'm in the funk and I can't read anything 🙁

    • Yippee, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the book fest that you've been to Tasya! Best of luck for the finals, enjoy the time you have to rest and recuperate. Reading will always be there!

  4. oooohhhh, this book fair!! We have an annual book fair here in the Philippines but they're not second hand books (not that I prefer to own second hand books but they're cheaper. lol). They're 20% discounted though so it's still amazing.
Your book haul looks great! I'd LOVE to have that edition of The Hunger Games. I have the foil edition but that white one with colored pages looks amazing!! #jealous

    • Yessss it's the best, some of these books are so cheap too. Ohhh that's an awesome book fair still! It's an Aussie exclusive edition and sooo pretty. I've seen the foil edition too which is gorgeous!

    • Yesss, I'm so stoked about all my finds esp. the hardcovers! I've been looking forward to Gabby's new book so I'm definitely keen on reading it.

Lifeline book fest looks so incredible. I'm jealous of all the pretty books! Also, the YOU tv series is great news, though I'm hoping it doesn't flop.

  6. Oh, that book sale is so cool. And it's for a good cause!!! I wish there was something like that near me. Also, Graffiti Moon is INCREDIBLE. I jut re-read it a couple weeks ago and fell back in love with it completely, so I hope you love it too! And those editions of The Hunger Games series are gorgeous omg. Have a great week!

    My Sunday Post!

    • I've been going since I was a kid and I love it! That's so exciting about Graffiti Moon, I loved Words in Deep Blue so I'm keen on reading it. You too Lefty!

I really miss the Lifeline Bookfest! I lived in Brisbane for a few years, and when we returned to America, I have to admit to bringing back a few too many books picked up at Bookfest! I hope the heat wave passes soon, I have been hearing all about it from my Aussie friends.

    • Yesss it's become somewhat of a tradition now to go every time, I really enjoy it! I'm glad you got to grab a good book haul before you left.

  8. Ty for the video format, meant I could listen to this whilst I sort out my build for Diablo 3 (trying a barbarian out for the first time ever eeek)

some lovely books youve gotten! the book sale thing sounds amazing too
