Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!

It’s been a pretty stressful week, so I’ve been eating more junk food than usual and slacking on gym and wedding planning. Sometimes you just need those times to relax you know?

I’m doing pretty well with my binge reading lately though, I’m so glad that I’m back into the groove of things. I LOVED Remind Me How This Ends, featuring a best friend romance which I’m reviewing soon, and I’m almost finished with Waking Gods which is the sequel to Sleeping Giants (which was one of my fav books of 2016) and unfortunately finding it super disappointing.

Aila and Jenna are both back though, I missed them a lot! I haven’t been doing too well keeping up with my blog commenting, but all of your comments are definitely appreciated. For some reason Commentluv isn’t working with Intensedebate so I don’t know how to fix it, but as long as you leave your blog link in the website field, we’ll be able to find your blogs.

Have you entered our current giveaway? Aussies can win The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon, ends 31 March.

I know it’s almost March, but here’s my book haul video for February! Better late than never huh?

In my video, I talk about the books I bought and the review copies I got from publishers. I also unboxed some book mail, because those are so much fun!

If you haven’t already, follow me on Instagram to check out my unboxing videos via Instagram stories.

Yay for the return of co-bloggers! And you're right – sometimes we just need a bit of a break and that's perfectly okay too. If we never relax, ur bodies and minds would go overboard anyway. Also, I am happy you've been able to read so much! I've been in a slump, ahaha :/ But reading reviews here helps me know that I have some good books to buy which might motivate me to read a little more…

  2. Honestly, I'm so glad to read that first paragraph about you eating more junk food and slacking on gym and wedding planning because ME TOO! I've actually worked out at least five days a week all this past month and haven't lost a single pound because I still eat trash and ugh, realizing that made me temporarily lose my way. It's okay though, we all deserve a break every once in awhile. The main thing is convincing ourselves to not let that break last forever. 😉

And daaangg girl, that's a lot of books for February. I'm glad you liked Caraval, I'll be reading it at some point in the next month or two as it's the book my book club picked for our next meeting. And I mentioned it on your Instagram photo already but that Beauty and the Beast edition is so beautiful! Love!

    • LOL it's hilarious because that's the bit everyone has commented on to say ITS OKAY hehe. OMG Asti that is an amazing work out schedule! I'm sure you're a lot stronger though afterwards, it does make a massive difference! Yeah, I'm back on the bandwagon today which is good 🙂 as long as we don't beat ourselves afterwards and realise what is needed.

I hope your wedding planning has been going well! I've really gotten lazy this month because most of our major stuff is booked now. Just need to organise a videographer and save the dates. I really enjoyed Caraval, but the characters felt a bit empty, and there's a trigger for parental abuse. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it though!

Sorry to hear Waking Gods is disappointing! I was wondering about that one after reading the first one last year…

I have always been a stress eater! I have just learned to accept it. I mean, it could be way worse! I could be a stress drinker or gambler! So, when I think of it like that, my desire to shove junk food in my face doesn't seem so bad 🙂 Hope you have a great week!

    • I completely agree, especially if that's what it takes to get you back ON the bandwagon! Thank you so much, I'm glad you found it entertaining lol.

  5. You always get the good stuff, Jeann! Looking forward to reading your thoughts on these books. I'm so sad Waking Gods isn't living up to your expectations. 🙁 So anxious to read that book! Bah.

    • Thanks Joy, it looks like I'm the black sheep looking at GR reviews lol. It was just a frustrating read for me because things weren't really shown, they were told in retrospect. And everything just went TOO far into crazytown. But hey, some people love that!

Sometimes we all need some time to eat junk and slack off. No shame in that! I'm sorry you aren't enjoying Waking Gods – I loved it! I hope you love all your new books! The UK version of Caraval is just gorgeous! 😀

    Here's my Weekly Recap!

    • LOL I completely agree, I have no regrets. Yeah, Waking Gods was just too far out for me lol. Thank you, I love my Caraval edition!

  7. I tend to stress-eat and slack off on workout times too when I'm stressed, so I 100% feel you. I did try to get back to working out this weekend and now I'm sore all over.
Sounds like you read some good books besides that disappointing sequel. I'm always up for a best friend romance, so I'll check it out.
Happy reading and have a good week ahead!

    • Yeah, I have no regrets lol because I really needed it at the time. I'm back to my normal routine now though! Good work Nick, it definitely pays off. Yesss I have a feeling you'll love it, it kind of reminded me of I'll Meet You There.

  8. LOL I'm probably the least healthy person too, so I kind of needed it. Yeah, I read your review for We Are Okay, I did end up enjoying it though! YES I DO BUT I WANT TO RE-READ AND BINGE.

I eat junk food when stressed as well,it's just so comforting. I hope you will be less stressed next week Enjoy your books and week!
