March flew by so fast I can hardly believe it’s over! I spent the start of March looking for jobs and ended up getting a new one, which I start in 2 weeks time! I also went to the Lynette Noni signing at Dymocks, talked about two OzYay books on ABC Radio and went to YA Squad 2016. My sister got to leave the hospital this week as well which we’re very relieved about! I’ve been babysitting my two 8 and 11 year old nephews and they’ve been a massive handful.
I also binge read the Chaos Walking trilogy which is now one of my new favourite series! It’s such a tense, dark and gripping trilogy that makes you question human nature. I’ll be reviewing the series soon.
I talk about the books I read during March in my video recap below!
Books I read during March
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness – 5 stars
The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness – 5 stars
Monsters of Men by Patrick Ness – 5 stars
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman – 5 stars
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton – 4 stars – Review & Author interview to come!
Yellow by Megan Jacobson – 3.5 stars (Review)
The Stars at Oktober Bend by Glenda Millard – 3 stars (Review)
You’re the Kind of Girl I Write Songs About by Daniel Herborn – 2 stars (Review)

Book Haul
What about Aila and Jenna?
Aila spent much of March studying and feeling a bit slumpy, but she got to read heaps of books.
Jenna read 17 books despite feeling a mid-month slump and DNF’d one book. I wish I had her reading prowess!

Gah. Really jealous of how accessible Aussie YA books are to you, Jeann. Sadly, I'd have to fork up a lot of money to get them. Anyway, it sounds like you've had quite a month! And I wish I could rave about Patrick Ness' series. Unfortunately, his writing is not meant for me to read. Sigh.

We're really lucky to have fantastic authors here, but I'm so glad that they're now more widely available overseas on TBD. They are pretty expensive but that's actually how much books cost for us! A shame Patrick Ness wasn't for you.
Congratulations again on the new job Jeann, it's so exciting and must be a huge relief with everything that's been going on lately. So happy to hear your sister is on the mend as well, it's hard to watch a member of your family go through so much and feel so helpless.
I recently bought the Chaos Walking series too and can't wait to crack it open. I'm a massive fan of his writing and hope that I enjoy it as much as you have <3

Awwhh, I'm sorry to hear you did not enjoy The fill-in boyfriend. I really liked the development from the main character, but I agree that she wasn't always the easiest to read about.
