I can’t believe it’s only been three weeks since we’ve gotten Toby, he’s pretty much taken over our life now! He’s pretty well behaved at the moment and a pretty chilled out dog, until he gets into his little tantrums. I’m glad we got to spend some quality time with him over Christmas! If you haven’t already, check out his Instagram account.
DECEMBER WRAP UP VIDEO – MEET TOBY!
Of course, I had to show him to you in my December Wrap Up video below.
Books I read during December:
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch – 4 stars
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi – 4 stars – Review
A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers – 4 stars
Cloudwish by Fiona Wood – 3 stars
Reviews to come! I only read 4 books out of my usual 10-12 books a month, but to be honest it was really relaxing! With the new puppy and Christmas, I was still pretty happy with everything.
DECEMBER BOOK HAUL – IT’S MASSIVE
I had to separate out my book haul in December because I got so many books! (And I still couldn’t keep away from the library). Houston, we have a problem.
Here’s my December book haul video:
BOOKTUBE INTERVIEW – RADIO NATIONAL NZ
I was contacted by Radio National NZ to participate in a booktube interview last week! I can’t believe I was chosen for this opportunity, it was pretty cool heading into the ABC Studios and talking about my favourite thing – the book community! Toby and I are in the New Zealand news everyone!
You can check the out the podcast here, it goes for 11 minutes 🙂
What about Aila and Jenna?
Jenna read 22 books in December so she could finish her GR reading challenge. I think she’s a superhuman, just quietly.
Aila recently reviewed You Don’t Know My Name, about espionage and suddenly it turned into a love story. Check out her ARC giveaway!

AHHHHH GIMME MORE TOBY <3
HE LOOKS SO SOFT AND FLUFFY AND OMG I WANNA HOLD HIM
Puppy!!! Toby looks adorable! I'm glad you got to spend a lot of quality time with over the holidays (: Looks like you had a busy December and good luck with your booktube interview! Happy readings, Jeann!
TOBYYYYY. He is the cutest omg. And yesss The Star-Touched Queen, it's on my TBR and I can't wait to read it! The way you described it in your vid just makes it sound so beautiful. And wow your haul…you're out of control, Jeann! :')
Wow! Your book haul is massive!
Thank you Susan, you too!
Oh my gosh, Toby has his own Insta!?!? *follows immediately* He is so utterly adorable!! I haven't been reading much lately, but I've had my eye on TSTQ for so so so so long. It looks absolutely gorgeous and magical. I've been meaning to read The Midnight Star, too, and my tbr pile is getting SERIOSULY out of hand. I've mainly been reading mythology/non fiction books lately (research!), and I'm starved for some fiction. 🙂
Hehehe he\’s definitely a cute dog, that\’s for sure! I can\’t believe how massive he\’s gotten though. I haven\’t read much lately too but it\’s pretty enjoyable when I do! I hope you enjoy TSTQ, it\’s sooo good. I will have to binge the Young Elites series, looking forward to it!
Toby looks so cuddle-ble (not a word, but it should be!). I wish my hubby would let us get a puppy. 🙁
I'm happy you enjoyed Dark Matter, Jeann! And I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the books in your pile.
Oh my gosh he is definitely cuddly lol, but I\’ve since learnt he doesn\’t like getting picked up and he fights it lol. Dark Matter was so good but I have no idea how to review it! What a mindfuck XD
