Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!

It feels so good to finally get over my reading slump! I’ve been reading some really good books lately, like STRANGE THE DREAMER which you should all read which definitely helps. I also read The Hate U Give which is such an important book that left me feeling quite emotional. My review will be going up this week!

I’ve been trying out this new food delivery service called Youfoodz, which delivers ready made meals to your door and it’s absolutely delicious! When I’m working, wedding planning, blogging and looking after a puppy, the last thing I want to do on top of all that is to cook and clean. This saves me a lot of time and I’ll probably keep going with it. We’ve been getting into a healthier routine lately with exercise and everything, so every little bit helps!

Toby is 5 months already, I can’t believe how fast they grow! We take him for walks every morning and have been taking him to the dog park, so he’s a lot calmer at home. It’s a bit scary at the dog park though, you constantly have to be on your guard to pull your dog out of a bad situation. He does pretty well on his own, but I think he’ll do better once he’s fully grown against other big dogs.

AUSSIE GIVEAWAYS: The Bone Season (new edition) by Samantha Shannon, ends 31 March 2017. Also giving away on Twitter here.

February Fairyloot Unboxing

I loved the February version of Fairy Loot, which was Empress of a Thousand Skies! I just about died when I saw the Manon and Dorian print and the Illuminae coaster.

It's so good that you've been able to get some really good meals coming your way while you are busy working and keeping up with everything! I hope the wedding planning is going well. I also love the looks of this massive haul! I hope you enjoy all these books 🙂

    • Yeah, it definitely helps that there's one less thing to worry about. It is going well but I've certainly gotten lazier haha there's just so much to do. Thank you Olivia!

  2. Jane Whittingham

Awwwww, loving those puppy pictures! They do grow so fast, but they're still adorable, no matter how big they get. 🙂

  3. Cyn @ Bookmunchies

The food delivery sounds like a great way to stay healthy while you're crazy busy! And oh my gosh, Toby! Getting so big!
Hope you enjoy all your new books! There's so many I wouldn't mind getting my hands on! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on them!
I caved and got the March Fairyloot! Super excited! Have an awesome week, Jeann!

    • I know, otherwise we just get junky takeaway food which definitely isn't the best. Thank you so much Cyn! OMG the March Fairyloot is going to be AWESOME! I can't wait for it.

  4. That food delivery service sounds perfect! I have a hard time planning meals for the week for my family because they're all picky eaters. Sometimes, they don't even like the same food so I'm having to scramble. I hope there's something similar in my city.

Fantastic haul, Jeann. And I'm glad you're over the slump. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on these!

    Have a great week!

    • Yes, there seem to be food services that also deliver fresh ingredients with a recipe too! I hope you have something there, it helps so much. Thanks Joy!

  5. I've seen a lot of mentions of ready-made meal deliveries and they sound so convenient. Do you get to choose what they deliver or do they choose for you? I feel like that's always the hardest thing about cooking each week. Even if I have time/energy for it, deciding on what exactly I should make is so frustrating! If a service existed that just said "hey, cook this tonight" and didn't even do anything else, I'd be happy. (I don't get why choosing things is so hard. Too many choices!)

Aw, Toby is definitely growing fast! I hope you enjoy every minute of it! I'm at the old-fart stages with my dogs (12 and 14) and it's so hard to see their bodies slowly start to deteriorate. These fur balls are so worth it, but boy do I wish they lived as long as we humans do! And go you for taking Toby to the dog park! I walk my dogs every day but my oldest is a bully who doesn't get along with others so there's no way we could ever take her to a dog park. (Once when we lived in an apartment we did and she flung a wiener dog in the air! Luckily the little guy wasn't hurt, just shook up, but yeah. That definitely ensured we didn't try that again.)

And oh, I didn't realize Everything, Everything was going to be adapted into a movie. (I'm way out of touch with bookish news after being away for so long). I actually read that one for a book club and didn't mind it, but I'm not sure if I'd like it as a movie. Interesting.

    • Yes, I get to choose the ready meals that they deliver but there\’s also services that deliver fresh ingredients to you each week with a recipe! It\’s sooo helpful and after a long day at work the last thing I feel like is slaving away in the kitchen.

Awww your doggies are so adorable Asti! Not all dogs are great at the dog park and you\’re definitely being responsible keeping them away. We\’ve encountered a few aggressive situations at the dog park too with Toby, him being a puppy and all and it always happens so quickly. I still haven\’t read Everything, Everything yet!

Omg you got The Pearl Thief! I'm exited and terrified for that book (Code Name Verity destroyed my feels). I hope you enjoy it and all the other books you received!

  7. Ardis

I absolutely loved your unboxing video! I haven't heard of Fairyloot, but all the little touches sure make opening their boxes exciting! I am most excited about Strange The Dreamer! Laini Taylor is coming to my area (San Francisco Bay) in two weeks, and I am beyond excited for this. Have a wonderful week of reading.

    • Yay, thanks for watching, it was so much fun to unbox it on camera! I have met her before and she is the loveliest. I hope you have a great time and enjoy the book!

  8. thebookdisciple

Toby is super cute!! I worried about my dog at the dog park too. It can get crazy! I got her to play fetch instead so now that is what we do to get her lots of exercise.
    Have a great week!

  9. cindysbookbinge

I am glad that you are over your slump! What a great book haul! Enjoy them and your week ahead.

  10. AHHH TOBY IS SO BIG. Big and gorgeous, of course. So glad you loved The Hate U Give and Strange the Dreamer (can't wait to read Strange the Dreamer omggg). And also I can't wait to see Beauty and the Beast! Bit dubious about Emma Watson's singing but we'll see how it goes :')

    • I KNOW. And he's not even fully grown yet, it's insane! Omg I think you will love Strange the Dreamer, I can't wait to hear your thoughts! Also I need to give your blog some love. I will when I get the chance!

  11. Geybie's Book Blog

Hi Jeann, great post. I'm planning to read The Hate You Give next week. Oh and I'll check out 'Strange The Dreamer'. Thanks for recommending it. I hope you enjoy your reads this week. Happy reading.

    Toby is ADORABLE! 😀

  12. Anisha

AHHA I LOVE YOUR POSTS SO MUCH JEANN! AND TOBY HAS GOTTEN SO BIG AND CUTE AND I LOVE THAT LITTLE MUNCHKIN! Also YAAS i recently read THUG too and often I find myself thinking about it and how much it taught me and changed me! It is such a phenomenal book and everyone needs to read it!

    • AHHH THANK YOU Anisha! I love your comments so much and I promise to return the favour soon! I can't believe how much he's grown. I loved THUG so much, my review is going up this Friday! I completely agree with you, it really made me think about our privilege a lot.

  13. theliteraryhuntress

Whoa I can't believe Toby is already that big! It seems only yesterday we got the first look of him❤ I already watched Beauty and the Beast and really liked it, so I hope you'll enjoy it too!
