Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!
Can you believe Easter has been and gone? I’m slightly envious (okay, super jealous) at everyone eating chocolate though, seeing as I’m allergic to dairy so no chocolate for me 🙁 that doesn’t stop me from having all the bubble tea and coconut milk ice cream in the world though 😀
Jeann’s Exhausted Babbling
I’ve had a super hectic weekend again though, we took Toby hiking and out to breakfast, and I feel like I’ve been eating my weight in korean bbq and sushi lately with friends! Anyway, in Australia we have a public holiday on Tuesday (ANZAC Day) and we’re off to a wedding on Friday at Byron Bay. We’re only there overnight, but I’m super eager for some much needed rest.
I’ve been feeling super exhausted lately and it’s taking a major effect on my stress and energy levels, so I really need to prioritise some down time. Does anyone else tend to overwork/overschedule/generally forget you’re a living breathing human that needs to rest and relax?
Night Swimming Launch with Steph Bowe
I also went to the Night Swimming launch in Brisbane with the lovely Steph Bowe, which was fascinating hearing how she came up with the book (she had a dream and wrote GOAT TRAGEDY on a sticky note) and her writing life as well. Steph is only 23 and she’s released 3 books, the first one when she was 16! She’s hilarious and so inspirational. I was actually on a panel with her 3 years ago and it was lovely seeing her again! She’s pictured below with the lovely Paula Weston (Author of the Rephaim series).
NEXT OZYAY ON AIR, 7 May 2017: We’re covering Night Swimming by Steph Bowe and The Silent Invasion by James Bradley on ABC Local Radio (Australia) at 7-8pm AEST. Tune in via your local ABC radio station, via the ABC Radio App or online to hear about the latest #LoveOzYA news and our reviews on these two books!
March Book Haul Video
I thought it’s been a while since I’ve showed Toby in one of my videos, and it’s amazing how much he’s grown! My floof is now 6 months old and I can’t believe how much time has flown by! We can’t imagine life without him now, and he certainly brings us joy when we come home after work. Check out my March Book Haul video below for my March book haul and a grumpy Toby.

Your comments give me life Shannon! Haha yes there may or may not be some teeth marks on some of my books, whoops. Crying definitely helps me relieve the stress sometimes! Ohhh I still have to read Three Dark Crowns!
I just read ACOW and it was really, really good! So good in fact that I am having trouble putting together my review for it. I really couldn't get into Defy the Stars unfortunately, something to do with the writing.
I’m really excited for the next Throne of Glass book, even though I’m not even a big Chaol fan XD. Also, the Raven Cycle is becoming a TV show??? Where the hell was I when it was announced? >_< I’m super excited though cause I love this series ^^.
My latest post: Giveaway: Enter to win a paperback copy of A Court of Wings and Ruin (International)
Yay, I'm glad to hear there's a book for you to look forward to though! I have no idea, I didn't see the announcement either!
I get that exhausted feeling quite a lot. At the moment its because I am in berserk study mode for my exams which start on Tuesday. I'm also a major introvert who likes to ignore that fact and do all the social things, so I get super exhausted xD
Oh man, I'm glad someone else out there relates lol! Good luck for your exams, I hope you ace them, but also get time to relax!
There are definitely times when we all need to take a step back and a breather! The Night Swimming launch sounds like it was amazing, I definitely can't wait to read the book myself 🙂 Hope you have a great week Jeann x

Yesss, it was amazing hehe! Thanks for visiting, Toby loves the attention hehe
I'm glad Gemina won that award- I just finished the book a week or so ago and loved it! SO good! And cute dog- he looks happy there by the books. 🙂
Enjoy ANZAC Day! And Korean bbq- mmm that sounds good!
YESSS I\’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the book! It\’s one of my all time favourites. Thank you, I had a good break, watched Guardians of the Galaxy 2 which was great!
I definitely tend to forget I'm a human that needs to rest and just CHILL once in a while as well, you're definitely not alone. Take some time for yourself, Jeann and take care! <3
I know, we aren\’t cyborgs that have constant energy to do things! I\’m glad it\’s not just me. Thank you so much lovely!
Glad you got to meet Steph Bowe! I hope you had a wonderful time!
Here’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!
She was really lovely! Thank you.
Have some rest and take care of yourself, Jeann! I tend to overwork too, but it’s not healthy. The Raven Cycle series is being adapted for television?! I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’m hard to please when it comes to adaptations of my favorite books. Have a great week, Jeann!
You\’re totally right, it was my new years resolution and it\’s a work in progress haha. Yeah, I\’m a bit over the hype of adaptations esp since they always turn out disappointing. You too lovely!
You may feel better if I tell you Easter has nothing to do with chocolate where I live 😀 we just eat eggs!
And that is one exhausted doggie in your photo 😀 but my my, has he grown big! Was just a pupper such a short while ago, wasn't he. So cute still 🙂
I KNOW it\’s only been a few months and he\’s a monster lol! I love that he\’s calmed down a lot since a tiny baby though, I can get some reading in. Lol I\’m not a big fan of eggs, so it\’s definitely no loss for me!
