Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!
So we’ve just finished a whole month of having a public holiday every week in Australia, and I’m glad to have my normal routine back. We’ve booked our engagement photoshoot in 2 weeks time, but my weakness is food. Why is food so tasty? We also went to a wedding in Byron Bay which was completely gorgeous, and got to catch up with some friends which was good.
Oh, I also watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2! I enjoyed it…but it had some issues. There’s this asian character in there, who is a submissive female who is pretty much made to serve. It made me cringe so much, but I enjoyed Groot and the action.
I’ve started a new writing project and have reached over 3000 words! It’s not much, but it’s kind of exciting to have something on paper, rather than daydreaming about all these stories that I could tell in my head. I’ve been crying out for Asian representation in YA for a long time and instead of waiting for someone to write it, I’ve decided to just write it myself. I’m not sure how it is or where it will go, but for now I’m just having fun with it (which is the main thing).
Current giveaway (Australians only) – Win a copy of Night Swimming by Steph Bowe! Ends 21 May 2017.

Good on you, Jeann. I could never find the strength/courage to write just because I'm a wuss. Lol. Good luck, and keep at it! Don't give up.
Never say never Joy! thank you, I'm slowly chipping away at it, I'm sure it will amount to something cos I'm too stubborn that way 😛
Congrats on the upcoming wedding! I love that you're taking action and writing the books/characters that you want to see. I think that's what more people should do instead of just complaining about other authors not writing more diversely. Write what you know, right? Hope you both have a great week!

Thank you Sandy! Yeah, I've always wanted to write but self-doubt has always stopped me. Thank you lovely!
Great book haul there! I'm excited to know your thoughts on Windfall, Release and Hunted. I've heard so many amazing things about GoTG2, but none of the issue bit, so I guess I'll have to see it myself to find out. Have an amazing May Jeann!
Thank you, I still haven't read them yet but it's taking me a while to get through Wayfarer which is my current read. Have a great one!
Awesome post Jeann!
