Most know Androma Racella as the Bloody Baroness, a powerful mercenary whose reign of terror stretches across the Mirabel Galaxy. To those aboard her glass starship, Marauder, however, she's just Andi, their friend and fearless leader.

But when a routine mission goes awry, the Marauder's all-girl crew is tested as they find themselves in a treacherous situation and at the mercy of a sadistic bounty hunter from Andi's past.

Meanwhile, across the galaxy, a ruthless ruler waits in the shadows of the planet Xen Ptera, biding her time to exact revenge for the destruction of her people. The pieces of her deadly plan are about to fall into place, unleashing a plot that will tear Mirabel in two.

Andi and her crew embark on a dangerous, soul-testing journey that could restore order to their shipor just as easily start a war that will devour worlds. As the Marauder hurtles toward the unknown, and Mirabel hangs in the balance, the only certainty is that in a galaxy run on lies and illusion, no one can be trusted.

As part of the Zenith blog tour today, I’m excited to share 5 reasons why I love sci-fi and the elements that appear in the book.

1. Different worlds and species

The galaxy is a vast place and you’re only bound by your imagination for what these planets are like. Zenith explores different planets, terraforming and the species that come out of this, whether it’s A.I., blue-skinned aliens or other species altogether.

2. Space ships

There’s seriously nothing cooler than space ships, especially when they’re a part of galactic space battles. Marauder, the ship in Zenith is made of glass which was interesting (although I wasn’t sure how that worked practically).

3. Space themed roles

From bounty hunters, to space delivery people, evil queens and ship commanders, I love the different roles that people have when you open up the galactic empire. Zenith features an assassin, bounty unter, A.I. and evil queen all rolled into one!

4. Intergalactic battles

What happens when you get a bunch of cool spaceships together and competing morals and objectives in space? The coolest space battles you’ve ever seen, with lots of lasers, explosions, interesting spaceship mechanisms and talented pilots and gunners. Yes I’m a space nerd, can you tell?

5. Political intrigue

I honestly find real life politics boring, but I adore the political intrigue in sci-fi books, particularly when you’re talking about the power struggles between different planets, aliens and the whole interplanetary space system. Whether it’s their intelligence or leadership ability, I love seeing which race comes out on top when it comes to ruling.

  1. Ooh exciting! I literally just finished Golden Son (THE SECOND TIME AHH) before reading this so I’m like totally hyped up on sci fi and all the cool tech and the insane politics. Like I totally don’t understand half of it but I can admire intelligent and complicated systems from afar okay. Ah ahhaa. Anyway, I’m curious to try this one!
