A Farewell to Aila – Our Co-Blogger of 4 Years

It has been four years since I’ve had co-bloggers at Happy Indulgence, and it’s been a wonderful journey going through life’s milestones with the two of them by my side! It’s been amazing sharing such a big part of my life with two of the most amazing women I am glad to call not only my co-bloggers, but also my best friends: Aila and Jenna. However as with all good things, sometimes they have to come to an end.

Aila will be finishing up at Happy Indulgence after four wonderful years, and I’m really sad to see this chapter come to an end! She started at Happy Indulgence while still at high school, and now that she’s in college, she’s put down the books in favour of textbooks and exam papers (fun times). I’m just so grateful that it has been such a long time that we’ve been able to keep her around, but it’s time to let her go forth into the wild.

I still remember Aila’s co-blogger application – I was floored by her bubbly personality and her enthusiasm and passion for reading and books. All the screaming, and support, and fangirling behind the scenes as well has never failed to put a smile on my face! It’s been so much fun sharing our love and enthusiasm for books together.

Thank you so much Aila for making this little corner of the internet a bit brighter for all of us – it has been such a fantastic journey sharing this ride with you, and I can’t wait to see what you will go forth and achieve in life. I’m incredibly grateful for everything that you’ve offered throughout the years and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for you.

Aila has been the bubbly and energetic force that has kept Jeann and I young, tbh. It’s been absolutely wonderful seeing her grow over the last four years (it’s honestly quite mindboggling that it’s been four years!) and going from a high schooler who was despairing about the future to now seeing her flourish as a college student. I’m sure she’s going to do great things with her career and I can’t wait to see where life takes her next.

My first impression of Aila was seeing the rap video that she made for Heidi Heilig’s The Girl from Everywhere. From that moment, she’s always had this amazing ability to make me want to pick up the books that she talks about. Despite reading quite different genres to each other, Aila and I have always found overlapping interests in books and I’ll really miss reading her reviews and seeing the passion that she has for books.

I hope Aila gets a chance to come visit us in Australia one day. One of my most cherished travel stories was my week-long trip to St Petersburg, Florida, where I got to hang out with Aila for a day. It was honestly so much fun – we went book shopping, went to the Dali Museum and had the most delicious food! I’d love nothing more than to hang out again and show her this corner of the world. I wish her all the success in the world and we will miss her bright and happy personality around here!

The past four years has been an amazing time at Happy Indulgence. Jenna and Jeann have not only been amazing co-bloggers, but also wise and understanding women who have really guided me through my time in high school and beyond. Their presence and abilities really inspired me to be the best I can be, and the experiences we’ve had at Happy Indulgence are something I will treasure closely. <3

Thank you Jeann and Jenna for being the big sisters I’ve never had! I know I was a lot to put up with, but your constant patience throughout it all and wisdom really allowed me to grow into myself.

Jeann, it was a blessing to be able to experience your life milestones with you. Seeing you blossom into a married woman, and then a mother, was absolutely breathtaking. And the fact that you continued blogging throughout it all is SO inspiring.

Jenna, I can’t believe you became a doctor throughout our time at Happy Indulgence! I love how talking and fangirling with you allowed me to expand my reading repertoire, as I got into genres that I previously would have ignored. Seeing you at St. Pete was literally the highlight of my month.

Thank YOU, lovely readers of Happy Indulgence, for sticking with me these past four year. I cannot wait to see how Happy Indulgence grows from here on out, and I’m really happy to have been a part of the team for so long. It has truly been a blessing to be able to have such inspiring, strong, and empowering cobloggers, and I know Happy Indulgence will continue to soar under them.
