Happy mother’s day to all the mothers out there! You are amazing!
Ahhhh, that’s the sigh of a successful reading month! I was so lucky to read so many amazing books this month. I absolutely LOVED Morning Star which I gust about in my booktube video.
As you may know from my Indulgence Insider posts, April was actually a pretty stressful month for me with lots of changes in my life. I’m hoping that May is more settled, it’s going to be a busy one settling into my new job and also visiting Sydney over a weekend this month! As they say, no rest for the wicked.
Thanks to everyone who’s taken the time to read our posts and leave comments despite us being semi-absent! We really appreciate the support.
Find out what I thought about the 8 books I read during the month in the video below!
Books I read during April
Morning Star by Pierce Brown – 5 stars – Review
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson – 5 stars (upgraded it from 4 stars) – Review
The Things I Didn’t Say by Kylie Fornasier – 4 stars – Review to come
Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes – 4 stars – Review
Marked in Flesh by Anne Bishop – 4 stars – Review

Book Haul
So many books to read! I’ve read The Unexpected Everything and Dreaming the Enemy so far, and purchased Me Before You, The Girl on the Train because I’ll be seeing Paula Hawkins at an event in a few weeks and Challenger Deep! The Evolution of Mara Dyer was a swap, and the rest were publisher review copies.
OzYay Radio Podcast – Dreaming the Enemy and The Things I Didn’t Say
We had lots of fun discussing these #loveozya titles during our last radio segment! Listen in here:
What about Aila and Jenna?
Aila is currently on semi hiatus as she’s busy with exams, so she doesn’t have a recap.
Jenna had another busy month but she managed to read lots of awesome books as well!

It's been a massive month for you especially Jeann, so I'm hoping it starts settling down and you're able to pick yourself back up again. You're like a cat, you always land on your feet <3
What a wonderful month of books though, and loved the last show. I could tell you didn't enjoy Dreaming The Enemy all that much though. I think it's one of those books that you need to be in that particular mindset for, war themes that are true to life are usually really confronting and stay with you long after that final page.
Here's to a better May for you and hopefully a more positive one as well <3 <3 <3

Oh man, I\’m kind of sick of these massive months to be honest and looking forward to some routine/normalcy soon! Thank you lovely, your comment definitely gave me a boost! I\’m so glad there were heaps of books that I enjoyed, even though Dreaming the Enemy was a bit meh for me. Thank you so much for your support Kelly <3
Excited to read Unexpected Everything and .. curious about why you upgraded it. Going to find your review!

YOU READ SO MANY AWESOME BOOKS?!
You know those amazing months when all the books you've read are like 4-5 stars?! Those are the most satisfying months, feeling like such a well spent month. AHHH, I've be at Teencon as well!!! I am so freaking psyched for this year's SWF. A WHOLE DAY FOR YA!!!! It'll be like heaven on earth.
I know!! It's been a while since everything I've read has been consistently awesome so it was definitely very satisfying! Looking forward to Teencon, it's going to be so much fun!
YEAH! Sounds like an amazing reading month for you Jeann! I am so happy to see that the majority of the books you read this past month were all 4 or 5 star books – that's incredible! And I hope May is less hectic for you all. <3
Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous recap! <3
I know, that usually never happens so I was very excited about it! Thanks Zoe, it's still pretty hectic on this end!
You definitely had a more successful April than I did, Jeann. Mine was just insane, but May is looking very promising. 🙂 I've also been AWOL for most of the month so I probably haven't been to your blog lately. Sorry! Anyway, I wish you ladies the best of May!
Happy reading. 🙂

All good Joy, I've been a bit AWOL myself! Things are getting a bit crazy. Wishing you the best, thanks for stopping by and hope you had a lovely mother's day.
LE GASP!!! You read Marked in Flesh!!!! Oooooh I'm so jealous. I've loved every other book in the series. I really need to get myself the hardback and start reading it too.

So many beautiful books Jeann! (Also HI I MISSED YOU!!) I see the sequel to Demon Road in there. I'm reading the first book right now & really enjoying it!
BTW, I'm totally working on my new WIP and there's for reals a character named Jeann in it. Because I told you I'd do that. 😛 She's badass & I'll try not to kill her off (too soon). ^_^

It seems we both read (and loved) The Unexpected Everything!
Omg it was so good! I loved it so much especially the dogs.
Oh yes, yes, yes … loved Morning Star so much! Sounds like your May is going to be busy, but hopefully not stressful.
