June 12, 2016 by Jeann @ Happy Indulgence | Books, Features, Indulgence Insider, Videos

Indulgence Insider is our version of Stacking the Shelves, Bought, Borrowed & Bagged and the Sunday Post, bringing you this week’s haul, bookish news and discussion posts from around the blogosphere!

Hello again peeps, here’s another Indulgence Insider, albeit a lazy version because these posts take forever to do and I’ve been busy with family and work.

May Wrap Up Video

I talk about the 12 books I read last month including raves about The Colours of Madeleine series, and my disappointment with ACOMAF and The Winner’s Kiss! Check it out below:

OZYAY May ABC Radio Podcast – Summer Skin & A Tangle of Gold

This month’s podcast had a pretty heated discussion about feminism and the themes of sex shaming and aggression in Summer Skin by Kirsty Eagar! It felt really topical given what’s in the news at the moment and it was great having this discussion. Check it out below!

You can catch up on past episodes here.

Next time on OzYay: We’re talking about One Would Think the Deep by Claire Zorn and Becoming Kirrali Lewis by Jane Harrison at 7pm AEST 3 July 2016! Tune in on your local ABC radio station, ABC radio app or via

The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler – This is one of Siiri’s favourite books, so naturally it has to be mine as well.

Looks like you had a fantastic reading month overall despite the disappointing sequels, Jeann! And ooh, I cannot wait to see what you think of The Summer of Chasing Mermaids. I really loved that standalone last summer. 🙂

Oh my gosh, I know right?? There have been *so* many great books out lately… and I've been in a terrible reading slump. On the other hand I've been getting into graphic novels lately–just about to start the Saga series, actually. I've heard wonderful things about it so fingers crossed I'll love it too. (and thank you SO much for all the support with FRAYED–I really, really appreciate it. :))
My recent post FRAYED is On Sale TODAY!!!!

    • Ahhh sorry to hear about the reading slump Kara! I hope you can pick up something that reignites the reading again. Saga is so good, I hope you enjoy it! The first volume was a bit shocking, but it\’s amazing all the same. No problems Kara, happy to support your writing!
