Book Club Vlog with Toby
Last week we held our first Name of the Book Club meet in Brisbane, and it went so well! I had a lot of fun talking about our first book, Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb with everyone. It was great hearing everyone’s different point of views and I was surprised there were so many people there! I decided to vlog about our first book meet, featuring my co-host Piera as well as Toby’s adventures at the dog park beforehand. My vlog also features the April ‘Fit for a Crown’ Fanciful Box unboxing, which I’ve just become a rep for! More on this below.
Check out my vlog below, or on my Youtube channel!
If you’ve read the Assassin’s Apprentice, catch up on the live show on Little Book Owl’s channel where we discussed our thoughts on the book.
Our May book club read is LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff, which will be released on May 9 in Australia.
Tickets to our Brisbane and Sydney meets will be announced this weekend! Because it doesn’t release until June overseas, we’ll be doing a live show then so you can catch up.
Brisbane Love YA Festival on 12 May
If you haven’t heard already, Brisbane Writer’s Festival/Uplit are hosting their first YA only event next weekend! And I’m on a panel, discussing book blogging and book reviewing! I’ve been waiting such a long time for us to have our own dedicated YA event, and I’m so honoured to be their 2018 Ambassador as well. Here’s more information on my panel and the event, with some lovely #LoveOzYA authors in attendance! Ellie Marney, Steph Bowe, Cath Crowley and Paula Weston will be speaking too and signing books!
Please let me know if you’ll be at the event, I’d love to see you and to say hi!
For a rundown on the event, here’s my video about the day:
Jay Kristoff’s LIFEL1K3 Launch in Brisbane
A few weeks ago, I was invited by Allen & Unwin Australia to host Jay Kristoff’s Lifel1k3 launch in Brisbane! I AM STILL DYING GUYS I can’t believe this, he’s one of my favourite authors so you can imagine how incredibly excited I am! Here’s the details:
Tuesday 22 May 2018, 6-8pm
Brisbane Square Library
Book your place here.
I’ll be in conversation with Jay on the night to talk about his fabulous book and he’ll also be signing books! I also get to interview him before the event and I’m COMPLETELY FANGIRLING guys. Sincerely hoping I don’t blabber embarrassing things like I tend to do when there are AUTHORS I LOVE around. Wish me luck.
Melbourne Patrick Ness & Jesse Andrews event – 7 May
And if all that bookish excitement isn’t enough, I’m heading to Melbourne this weekend to meet Patrick Ness! He’ll be on a panel as part of Mayhem with Jesse Andrews (author of Mun Mun). My Melbourne schedule has already filled up, as I catch up with my favourites over food and book shopping every 3 hours! Let me know if you’re going to Patrick Ness’s event, I would love to see you there!
Are you attending any fun bookish events soon? Will I be seeing you at any of these? What do you think of my vlogs? Let me know in the comments below!
